I really didn’t want to say anything, but here we are… all afternoon the guy across the street has been out doing yard work completely shirtless like he’s at the beach, not in the middle of a neighborhood where families are out walking and kids are riding bikes, and I tried to ignore it at first because it’s not my business, but after hours of it it just starts to feel unnecessary and out of place, especially when this isn’t some private backyard tucked away, it’s right out in the open where everyone has to see it, and at that point it stops feeling casual and starts feeling uncomfortable, and yeah maybe some people won’t care, but not everyone wants to deal with that while just going about their day, so I ended up making a formal complaint just so there’s a record, because if it keeps happening it’s only going to make things more awkward for everyone around here.

You saw me immediately react, bringing my dog under control as quickly as I could manage without her leaving my property. On a vu, dans les derniers jours, Éric Duhaime affirmer que notre plainte concernant ses dépenses lors de la campagne électorale dans Arthabaska relèverait de la partisanerie ou d’une attitude de « mauvais gagnant ».
Pourtant, les faits présentés dans cette plainte sont implacables. Neuf irrégularités ont été identifiées, et aucune n’a été contestée par les journalistes, tout simplement parce qu’elles sont toutes exactes. Or j’ajouterai que soulever un possible non-respect de la loi électorale n’a rien d’exagéré ni de partisan. Au contraire, c’est un devoir en démocratie, car il en va de la confiance du public envers ses élus!
Se lancer dans une campagne électorale implique que tout le monde respecte les mêmes règles. Point à la ligne. Et lorsqu’on a de sérieuses raisons de croire qu’un joueur n’a pas respecté les règles, les partis politiques doivent le signaler aux autorités compétentes.
C’est la même chose pour tous les crimes potentiels qui sont dénoncés sur la place publique! On a présenté nos arguments, ils sont solides, ils sont accessibles au public, et nous nous en remettons maintenant aux autorités compétentes pour vérifier si ce qu’on dit est vrai.
Contrairement à ce que Duhaime affirme, la plainte a été soumise au DGEQ plusieurs jours avant qu’on en parle dans les médias. Il n’a pas été en mesure de fournir de réponses ou d’explications crédibles concernant ne serait-ce qu’une seule de ces neuf irrégularités.
