Because one alternative didn't work for one person doesn't mean that no alternatives will work better for anyone. It doesn't even mean that conventional treatment would have worked better for that one person. Also, I'm not sure I would classify a fruit diet as alternative cancer treatment. There are a number of alternative cancer treatments out with legitimate research behind them. Just because one person tried something doesn't make the outcome of that meaningful to anyone else trying anything else.

Steve Jobs was diagnosed in 2003 with what was basically the only curable form of pancreatic cancer that there is. They were fortunate to catch it early. But Jobs declined the surgery, insisting instead on alternative medicine. He eventually realized he was wrong, but too late.
