Someone post the video of Dr Marci Bowers, former president of WPATH saying exactly what I attributed to HIM.
Becca Begotten🏳️‍⚧️@becca_begotten

@ShannonBDouglas This is a particularly egregious lie and misrepresentation. Puberty blockers and safe and reversible. They do not cause sterility, do not diminish orgasm, and you are misrepresenting what the doctor said. Sexual satisfaction is for trans people is the same as for cïs.

@ShannonBDouglas @GogirlCa She’s uncomfortable because she has to side with ideology and politics or evidence and patient safety. The days when one doesn’t have to pick sides are coming to an end.

Gender Ideologue: I just spoke directly with the head of the Canadian Medical Association (Margot Burnell) and warned her about the scandal of paediatric gender medicine. She was avoidant and uncomfortable saying that the evidence discussion belonged between families and doctors. I told her explicitly that this is the biggest public liability in Canada since the residential schools and that the CMA has an important leadership role is calling the so-called evidence into question. I asked her to make a statement that the evidence needs to be reviewed and the CMA needs to make the call. SHE needs to make the call. @CMA_Docs 1/2

@ibluba @JuliaMasonMD1 @benryanwriter You want to do the right thing. But intent alone does’t make an act ethical or good. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and sadly many of these kids have been led to their own personal hell.

I try not to share my opinions or personal thoughts on social media, but I must say how profoundly shocking I find this remark of Health Nerd’s. I would like him to have sat through the testimony of the detransitioner trial from January, which was about a girl losing her breasts.
Benjamin Ryan@benryanwriter

The potential impacts of providing minors with gender-transition treatments include infertility sexual dysfunction. Surgeries, for example, lead to a loss of breastfeeding capacity. And yet Health Nerd dismisses such impacts as somehow comparable to other pediatric treatments.

This begs the question. Why is this treatment offered? Evidence of benefit is lacking. Harms are predictable & evidence based. Reason & common sense (wisdom) always suggested this was a bad idea. Loss of sexual function, infertility, medical complications & worsening mental health is not acceptable.

📰A new Finnish study reports that youth gender transitions (under age 23) did not improve mental health symptoms. For some youth, medical gender reassignment may have had a negative impact. Link ⬇️ /1

It’s much easier to lose someone’s trust than to gain it back. Trust can easily be lost en masse. We’ve clearly seen that happen. And it can only be gained back one person at a time. My profession deservedly lost the public’s trust. Gender ideology is the worst example of how we’ve lost trust. Keep fighting, Erin.

Tell me how we will ever trust the medical community again. I am reading a medical chart for a teenage female from a large hospital on the West Coast. They examined her. They gave her a pregnancy test. But the doctor called her a male.

That’s a big blanket. Lots of vulnerable kids are at risk because of the AAP’s policy.

The @AmerAcadPeds says its policy isn’t a “blanket recommendation” for surgery. The AAP says surgery, including genital surgery, can be “pursued” on a case-by-case basis. Case-by-case, one person at a time, is how medicine is practiced. There is no other way.

When asked about the @ASPS_News that recognizes the lack of evidence and harms of hormones & surgery, the @AmerAcadPeds says politicians shouldn’t make decisions. The ASPS is a medical organization. Instead of engaging with legitimate concerns the AAP deflects & doubles down.

Gordon Guyatt admits he knows little about gender medicine, except for the low quality evidence. While patient autonomy is important, so is beneficence. Medicine should help, not harm. Here are a few other ethical values worth considering. —JUSTICE, as in honesty, kindness, and proper treatment of others —PRUDENCE, or wise and cautious judgement —MODERATION, as in humility and self control Gender medicine lacks these and other values. Maybe gender ideology is bigger than medicine. Maybe it’s a societal problem. We need to return to core values that make for a well ordered society.
Mia Hughes@_CryMiaRiver

Me: You signed a statement calling “gender affirming care” for youth medically necessary. Guyatt: WHAT!? That’s RIDICULOUS. I would never say that. Me: *produces the receipt Guyatt: Oh, I didn’t read that part. I’m a dope. Unbelievable.

@rreactor @Brink_Thinker You brought back wonderful memories. We used a lawnmower to mow the field, then lowered the blade to cut base paths. We tried building a pitcher’s mound with dirt but it never quite worked out. It felt like a major league ballpark. And no adult supervision with the lawnmower.

@Brink_Thinker Yes. And we found each other and figured out how to negotiate, cooperate, create allies, defend ourselves, and appreciate the natural world. We built forts, baseball diamonds, bike trails, and ultimately learned who we where and how we fit into this world.

In Alex Bakker's 2021 book The Dutch Approach (p. 113), Peggy Cohen-Kettenis, the Dutch psychologist who first used puberty blockers, shares her perspective on the WPATH guidelines, known then as HBIGDA. She said: “In 1978, the Standards of Care...consisted of  five pages largely addressing surgery and predominately intended to cover the backs of American plastic surgeons in case of claims.” From the start, its clear that gender ideology was a political, social, and legal movement. Doctors, surgeons, and psychologists more focused on shielding themselves from liability than the well-being of vulnerable youth. The same is true today. The term “standard of care” is used not to safeguard children, but to protect the professionals involved. It's time for these practices to end.

Doctors have never been good at the existential and transcendental, death being the prime example. Maybe that’s why some of us support euthanasia and suicide. Struggling with your sex is an existential issue. The TRUTH is hormones and surgery won’t address the issue.

This morning an op-ed was published in the @nytimes about detransion, yet no op-ed written by a detansitioner has been published. A dear friend said about the article, “gender ideology involves existential issues we humans have always struggled with, the first of those is truth” The author- a trans identified woman refers to herself as a father of a 5 year old in the piece. We know she is not. I also know, as my former spouse has detransitioned, that children cannot continue to be the collateral damage. Children should never be medically transitioned and should never be lied to about reality. We own them truth. @PatrickHunterMD @rentedocean

@chloecole @JRobFreedom Agree with you, Chloe. This is an existential issue. The money follows the ideology. Gender ideology causes societal institution like medicine, schools, and others to question foundational truths like male and female. Gender ideology denial of the truth leads too many to harm.

@JRobFreedom A lot of people point towards money as the biggest culprit, and while there is a lot of profit flowing in and out of gender clinics, I would argue that transgender ideology would not have been nearly this infectious if not for the ideological capture of our institutions.

The final thing that blackpilled me on transgender ideology is seeing how many transgender people, well under 30 years old, are already using canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. Young men and women everywhere are being crippled by doctors selling snake oil.
