She also talked about the economy numerous times, and proposed specific plans. Trump never proposed anything specific. He never hid his plan for mass deportations so this idea he somehow hid his hand is just absurd. People just won’t own up to what they really liked about his messaging — and it was the economy.

Trump talked about the economy. Harris focused on democracy.
Then Trump got elected, did nothing for the economy, and sent masked men to pull our cousins out of the school pickup line.

To this day, I still don’t understand what caused the Hispanic shift. I’m glad the reality check set in. But, Trump and his ilk were so candid with their views that I’m not sure what Hispanic voters resonated with. It makes me wonder if there were language based filter-bubbles where misinformation was spreading incredibly unchecked.

Absolutely. It still boggles my mind that so many people couldn't grasp last year how significantly more morally depraved a second Trump term would be in comparison to the first. And how so many people still can't comprehend that our national crisis isn't about politics, but simple morality.

@gtconway3d Yes! I have been saying this since 2016. Like most people, I never talked with casual friends about politics. But once DT entered the realm, it stopped being about politics. It is about decent y, integrity, fitness for office and now the whole party is failing the morality test!

@BillKristol I went to mine and the love of country was thick. Mostly American flags, patriotic dogs dressed up in red, white and blue, honking horns, we were singing Woody Guthrie's This Land is Your Land ... towards the end. Yes, as a conservative I was probably in the minority, but so nice

It's terrible that the media asks the question so ignorantly. If they simply said: "Why is he behaving as if he is afraid of releasing the Epstein files," it would at least be somewhat journalistic.

@WollastonWntr63 His election in 2016 shocked me and changed my optimistic nature. Everything that followed just confirmed my original concerns. That said, I am not giving up. I still believe there are more good people than bad. We have to keep speaking out and showing up.

Two events in recent years have permanently changed me.
I'm much more pessimistic.
Before, no matter how bad things looked I was always able remain hopeful.
But I can't escape a feeling of foreboding with respect to our society.

Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. Nervous Musk, Trump, Vance have all been outclassed in public arguments these last few days. Government failure, stock market crash, and dictatorial alliances are not popular. People are starting to realize that there is no truth here beyond the desire for personal wealth and power.

@RadioFreeTom I feel like it is not respectful to go into it on the day he died. And anyone with sense, knows he had a remarkable post presidency and was an exceptional person. Maybe let people focus on that for a few days and then you can tell them what your thought of his presidency.
