Another inane counter to me and @VivekGRamaswamy pointing out climate disaster deaths are down 98% in 100 yrs: crediting storm warning systems, not fossil fuels. 1. FFs power warning and evac systems. 2. Drought, not storm, deaths are the leading source of climate death reduced. Doing just a bit of logical thinking makes it obvious that fossil fuels are totally vital to the increase in safety from storm—not just because of powering storm warning system and evacuation systems, but also powering all the machines that make our infrastructure far sturdier than it used to be. And if you're going to claim, against all logic, that storm warning systems prevented all the climate disaster deaths—not considering fossil-fueled irrigation, crop transport, heating, air-conditioning, etc etc—WHY NOT LOOK AT THE ACTUAL DATA? @nytimes, @PolitiFact, just totally repeat a bizarre and provably false claim with no fact-checking! If you guys want to do your job and spare yourself more embarrassment, make me your fact-checker. I and my colleagues make huge efforts to avoid errors. As far as I can tell, mainstream catastrophist media outlets make zero effort to avoid errors. And it shows.

Here's the charts from todays @IrishTimes, hat tip to @jburnmurdoch of @FT . The numbers reveal some fascinating evidence about inequality, huge chasm between Ire & UK. The UK's budget last week will only make it more unequal. The Irish budget will do the opposite next week.
