This is quite stunning. The highest vaccinated county on earth has the highest Covid rate and highest excess death rate. But officials are silent about what the cause is. It’s baffling! Nobody can figure it out. The only thing they all had in common was the COVID vaccine.

And remember, Gemma O’D back in the day had not yet gone radical so it’s quite feasible for CC to nominate her without endorsing.

Irish voters look set to elect a far-left non-executive president. The office has fewer powers that many other European countries. Portugal, Poland and Italy, among others, all give their heads of state more powers. But it would be significant if somebody with a Corbyn/Melenchon worldview were be president at a time when Putin threatens Europe and Trump is in the White House.

I was at a meeting of four candidates seeking TD/Senator support and told them all that I would facilitate whoever looked closest to receiving an Oireachtas nomination to further the democratic process. This turned out to be Maria Steen.

But being unaffiliated to the campaign it’s not my role to sign nomination early. If team can’t get 14 or 15 signatures then my one won’t help, even before Independent Ireland
