To, The Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab The Minister of School Education, Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh Respected Sir/Madam, I am writing this appeal with a heavy heart to bring to your immediate attention a grave injustice within our state’s education department. A dedicated Computer Teacher, who served the Punjab Government with unwavering commitment for 20 long years, has recently passed away. Despite having a regular appointment and spending two decades shaping the digital future of our students, his family now stands at a crossroads of financial ruin. They are being denied the standard death-cum-retirement benefits (DCRG), family pension, and ex-gratia grants that are naturally accorded to other government teachers. The Core of the Injustice: * Two Decades of Service: This teacher gave his youth and his professional life to the state’s mission of "Digital Punjab." * Discriminatory Treatment: It is heartbreaking that after 20 years of "regular" service, a teacher is treated as a "second-class" employee upon death. The lack of a pension and social security for Computer Faculty is a violation of the principle of "Equal Pay for Equal Work" and the right to a dignified life for their dependents. * Family in Crisis: While other government employees leave behind a safety net for their children and spouses, this teacher’s family has been left with nothing but grief and debt. Our Prayers to the Government: * Immediate Financial Assistance: Grant an immediate ex-gratia payment to the bereaved family to cover their urgent needs. * Implementation of Full Benefits: Treat the service of Computer Faculty on par with the Education Department's regular cadre for the purpose of family pensions and death benefits. * Compassionate Appointment: Provide a government job to one eligible member of the family to ensure their long-term survival. The Computer Teachers of Punjab have been the backbone of our modern education system. To deny their families a livelihood after 20 years of service is not just an administrative lapse; it is a moral failure. We urge you to intervene personally and ensure that this family receives the dignity and financial justice they deserve. ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਤੋਹਫ਼ਾ ਜਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਧੋਖਾ📷 15 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2022 ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਯੋਗ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਿਵਲ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਰੂਲਜ ਅਤੇ 6ਵਾਂ ਪੇ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਿਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਤੋਹਫ਼ੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ, ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ, ਵਾਅਦਾ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ।

Yet, today, these same teachers find themselves standing on roads, raising slogans, and pleading for their basic rights. Their protests are not born out of choice but out of compulsion—because promises made to them by successive governments remain unfulfilled. Most of these teachers are highly qualified, yet they are forced to survive on contractual jobs and meagre salaries that can barely feed their families. Many of them have crossed the age of eligibility for new government jobs, and now their only hope lies in regularization. Some teachers share heartbreaking stories of being unable to pay their children’s school fees on time, others speak of struggling to meet medical expenses for their parents. It is a cruel irony that those entrusted with teaching “computer literacy” are themselves left with lives of financial darkness. Every time a new government comes to power, they make tall promises of regularization, better pay, and job security. But once in office, the voices of these teachers are ignored. Instead of recognition for their years of service, they are treated like temporary workers who can be replaced at will. Their protests are therefore not just about money—they are about dignity, respect, and the right to live a stable life after giving their youth to the service of education. The truth is clear: if the backbone of computer education is broken, the dream of a digital Punjab will collapse. These teachers deserve justice, not sympathy. Their demands are neither new nor unreasonable—they are simply asking for what was promised to them. The longer the government delays, the deeper the wound becomes. The struggle of these teachers is a reminder that no society can claim progress if it continues to neglect its own educators.

@msisodia श्रीमान जी आपको शायद जानकारी नहीं की पंजाब मे सरकार बनने से पहले चुनाव मानिफेस्टो मे कंप्यूटर शिक्षकों के साथ जो वादा किया था, वो आज भी अधूरा है, 50 से ज्यादा मीटिंग सब कमेटी के साथ हो चुकी है, लेकिन कोई भी हल नहीं निकला #justiceforcomputerfaculty
