this is the correct take. And people can whine all they want. Is it the correct way to go about ranking ND and Miami? I don’t know. But you have to call it how the committee sees it. If ND was ahead of Miami last week, Cristobal throwing bombs as time expires to win by 31 instead of 24 and ND allowing garbage time TDs with their 3rd string isn’t moving the needle. Miami's ticket to the playoff is not the head to head over Notre Dame. It's being ranked above Oklahoma and BYU. Probable? No. But the committee has shown us that is the only way. And if they cared about what happens in Week 1, we'd hear a lot more about Bama/FSU.
