We’ve been on a side-quest, and we have good news from the other side! 40 million Kenyans now have a bitcoin Lightning Address! They didn’t need to sign up for one because they had it this entire time, attached to the phone number in their pocket! Try it: send bitcoin to 0717252303@bitcoin.co.ke (254 is optional). The BTC arrives as KES in their M-Pesa. ⚡ EVERY M-Pesa number works. All 40,000,000. Wallets with LUD-09 support give you a nice clickable link to see your M-Pesa receipt. For example: bitcoin.co.ke/receipt/6528a4…

@AndreasSteno Didn't Trump immediately replace the illegal tarrifs with other tarrifs he says are legal?

Everyone and their mother at investment banks screamed about how tariffs would increase inflation and decrease growth last year, while literally no one seems to care about the impact now that they’re basically being rolled back. I don’t think I’ve ever seen macro coverage this biased in my career.

@TXMCtrades Businesses aren't going to accept BTC if nobody is using it. One of them has to show their work first, who do you think is more likely to do that?

A middleman service makes it easier for you personally, but it isn't proliferating a Bitcoin based economy of scale if the merchants aren't accepting BTC as business income and then spending it on input costs. Same goes for one's personal liabilities. I've said repeatedly that we need to see data on this from the middlemen vendors like Square to truly assess how this is progressing.

Any impact the coffee buyer might have is nullified if the merchant uses a middleman like Square to convert the BTC to fiat at point of sale and never touches Bitcoin itself. Then the coffee buyer is just virtue signaling, ultimately, and spending the hardest asset in their possession on something they sip on for 10 minutes.

A guy who buys his coffee with Bitcoin every month is much more valuable to the ecosystem than a guy who writes books. Bitcoin Spenders >> Bitcoin Book Writers all day every day.

@TXMCtrades @StevieJarosz So nobody should transact in BTC until one magical day when all the fiat disappears and then we only have BTC left to transact with? But we wont have any payments infrastructure in place because it was never used for that before?

Choosing to spend a harder money instead of a weaker one when the choice is presented to you is a suboptimal economic decision. There is always a subset of people who make suboptimal choices because of their personal preferences. You may not personally care, but at scale an economy will not make that same choice, it will spend the weaker money.

After hearing the Pentagon classified brief on Iran war impact on US weapons stockpiles, Senator Mark Kelly says it is "shocking how deep we have gone into these magazines." He said the Tomahawks, ATACMS, SM-3, THAAD rounds, Patriot rounds, so those interceptor rounds to defend ourselves have been hit hard. He says it'll take years to replenish those stockpiles, which could affect a hypothetical US conflict with China. @FaceTheNation

@eliotranch Left-wing _Politicians_ need the inflow of those immigrants to vote left. They need more votes to hold onto their power, so they propagandize for illegal immigration. Everything else that people argue about immigration being pro-lefty is all downstream of that simple fact.

Explain to me how mass immigration is a 'left wing' concept. I can't fathom how people swallowed this idea wholesale. - Endless supply of cheap labour helps capitalists, not workers - Strip mining of talent from developing countries is a form of neocolonialism - Endless pressure on the housing market inflates assets and prevents the poorest from having reasonably priced homes - A refusal to train enough people here removes vocation paths that the working class used to follow - The most negative social and cultural second order consequences are happening to working class, deindustrialised or neglected areas So it's left wing how? I can see how anti-immigrant sentiment can be seen as ethnonationalism and therefore right wing. But I can't see how support for mass immigration is left wing. And to be clear: it's not just a part of left wing thought. It's now so central to left wing thought, apparently, that any divergence from this immediately makes you 'far right'.

Here's an idea. Rich people own stocks. Voters own bitcoin, eth, sol, alts, crypto. Trump knows voters will determine the elections in November. BTC 160k is only a double.

CREEPY: When James Talarico was a 6th grade teacher, he reportedly encouraged his students to call him and follow him on social media. Is that appropriate conduct for a grown man to engage in with 11 and 12-year-old children?!

Yesterday I debated Bitcoin with a very IT-literate and AI informed colleague. His verdict: worthless, switch-off-able and never buying. For one nanosecond I doubted myself. But then I just ended it there by smiling, nodding politely and stacking anyway. Early?!
