@RBReich Start with term limits. 95% of America says yes to term limits. But agree, individual contributions of $2,500 and that’s it. No corporate money. No business contributions, no events, no plate dinners, no donor dinners, just private money to the best candidates.

This is how our government has been corrupted: 1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office 2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor 3) Donors make huge profit 4) Repeat We must get big money out of politics. It is the root of our dysfunction.

As we approach Thanksgiving, let’s take stock on Donald Trump’s promise to reduce costs. Turkeys up 40 percent. Sweet potatoes, 37 percent. Beef up 10 percent. I get why the president doesn’t want to hear about it. But he needs to do something about it.

Most Americans agree we need to get money out of politics. If that takes a constitutional amendment, then that's what we have to do. And if that's going to take years, then it's all the more reason to begin pushing now.

@SenMarkey Why is that unacceptable? Shouldn’t people be reapplying every 3 to 6 months? SNAP is not a lifetime program. I think most hard working taxpayers agree, a safety net is fine as long as the people that apply for the benefits really need them.

This is completely unacceptable. After holding SNAP benefits hostage, the Trump administration is trying to make it even harder for people to receive the support they need to feed their families. This is wrong.

Utility costs have risen 11% in the last year as Trump has promoted fossil fuels and curbed investment in solar and wind power. Climate change is an affordability issue.
