@GergelyOrosz @AdamRackis I know how to walk and I've even crossed the US on bicycle, but if my cross country flight to New York stops in Chicago I'm not walking the rest of the way!

Devs who can code also WITHOUT AI as well looking to became 10x more valuable They are the ones who won’t panic or be idle when their Claude quota runs out… So much for all the advice on how learning to code is not worth it any more…
Thariq@trq212

To manage growing demand for Claude we're adjusting our 5 hour session limits for free/Pro/Max subs during peak hours. Your weekly limits remain unchanged. During weekdays between 5am–11am PT / 1pm–7pm GMT, you'll move through your 5-hour session limits faster than before.

Great news: EWR and JFK are live again on my free TSA wait time dashboard. Since official feeds were pulled, I’m now sourcing data from a 3rd party provider (EWR/JFK only) Lmk if times are off. Tested a few times over past 24 hours, and seems accurate. tsa.fromthetraytable.com

@phillip @SleepwellCap Right. Im trying to figure out what my next machine is when this one eventually goes, but i dont know if i should go different. Get one with more bells and whistles at 2X cost and it might not be as good. This lived up to the hype. Beast of a machine.

@phillip @SleepwellCap One of my best purchases the last 15 years. Makes bar level espressos. Have used it every day since purchased. Made of good material not the plastic shit gaggia and saeco use.

Can you please stop trolling? Up to 2023, Adobe did not print it at all during the signup flow. They simply did not disclose there is an early termination fee. It was buried in the 40-page T&C somewhere deep down around page 34 This is why the FTC sued them. What you see today is the improved version, where they now DO disclose what they hid for ~a decade ftc.gov/news-events/ne…

I am a high school chemistry teacher. For years, I encountered students who did not know their multiplication tables and it interfered with their ability to understand chemistry. This year, I decided to take matters into my own hands. ⬇️

@SciInTheMaking @30ieswisdom I'm not sure the premise is true (that memorizing tables helps anything). In my small sample of 1 (me) I purposely still haven't learned because I don't want to rely on my memory. No doubt it made me slower at times but I have full confidence in my solutions.

Ok I’m gonna be real about layoffs for a second and share a POV that I haven’t heard too many people talk about. Disclaimer; most of my career has been in professional services. That’s relevant because this is generally an industry that runs lean, scales up and down and isn’t afraid to cut deep. It’s not for the faint of heart. When you work long enough in professional services, you spend some time working with the large multinational corporations. Most of these companies make things or are found across all the major sectors: healthcare, CPG, pharma, etc. etc. So many of these companies are just so big, and often times operating in legacy environments—that in many though not all, it’s commonplace for them to be operating with significant “fat”… duplicative roles, folks whose expiration dates have passed, unprofitable BUs… you name it. There are lots of places for people to hide and some know how to do it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve witnessed how so many folks who work for these kinds of companies have no idea how much they are sheltered from the kinds of things you’ll see in fields like professional services or even more rough and tumble environments like startups (generally speaking) and only recently, tech. So… AI is going to be an excuse for these massive companies should they decide to jump on the efficiency bandwagon. It already has been for some. As much as I don’t love how cruel it can feel to be laid off—I can understand and have seen first hand that’s there’s a lot of roles in a lot of companies where it’s very questionable how much value is being created. I think this will be tolerated less now…

Hot take: prompt engineering is BS I just talk to Claude as if it's a human and it works great. The idea that among 1 trillion parameters, Joe Nobody has figured out the optimal input X to get outcome Y is laughable. Just talk to the damn thing bro.
