@minusYCore @scottbuscemi @NotATeslaApp If your UWC was oversized to use 4 AWG instead of 8 AWG, then I can see an inspector approving the work, otherwise it should be a no-go. Additionally a Demand Response program should adhere to certain OpenADR standards. I'm assuming this product does comply.

@scottbuscemi @NotATeslaApp Seems they should, it's not much different than setting the UWC to a low current in software It *could* pull more, but it doesn't Breakers are still there to protect wiring and ensure safety

@PatCarone @reggiefilms I have seen parallel behaviors between EV drivers and Prius drivers. It reminds me that South Park Smug Alert is now non-fiction.I wish we could bury the hatchet and appreciate the diversity of options. Unfortunately one spoiled apple can and has ruined the whole bunch.

@zroger73 @NotATeslaApp Exactly. External trim push clips with some kind of grommet insert exists now. The standing issue of noise/rattles is the product QC that extrudes imperfect molds that creates the rattle during drive. If we are paying $50k+, we should be getting far better QC than a Honda Civic.

@NotATeslaApp I'm not convinced this is novel. I've seen similar "anti-rattle" trim clips used on the last several Honda and Acura vehicles I've owned. They have either a plastic cone that serves as a spring or a preloaded foam/rubber washer.

@OutofSpecDetail @Tesla I wouldn't mind being a beta tester for my 2019 RMN Raven battery 1107679-02-E to test at higher kW. Tesla has increased our kW speed before from 120 kW to 200 kW. Worst case, I get another battery. ⚡ youtu.be/kUujAGdRFTc?si…

@Cyber_Trailer Depending on location and budget. If you're in mild climates, AGM or NiCd for best value. If your day to day has cool nights and hot days, LiPo or similar chemistry and spend more than $200+. Peace of mind is worth it.

Need a consensus here. I’m bricked. Likely a 12v battery failure that needs to be replaced?? It’s 3+ years old I believe. 2.5 minimum. First super hot day of the year. Died after charging at supercharger. Main battery is at 84%. Seems like I should be granted the right to drive home. Recommendation on stock vs lithium??

@nozryc @WindowsLatest It's a difficult situation to mediate. Despite initial design divergence, we've seen more convergence with Windows' suspend function, more reliance on their HTML5 components, and now OnDemand governor? But unlike MacOS/Linux, Microsoft continues to bet on Copilot integration.

Difference is that windows has all the background services that just start ramping up sitting on the desktop. When I swapped to Linux the random ramp up stopped. Power efficiency is much better, and things are snappier. Apple implements it but they’ve also focused so much on the software side. Windows are using this as a bandaid fix.

Windows Latest@WindowsLatest·
Microsoft VP fires back at Windows 11's new speed trick critics: "Apple does this and you love it." Windows 11’s hidden Low Latency Profile is getting dragged online, but the criticism misses the point. Windows Latest has tested the Low Latency Profile, and it truly works. When you open the Start menu, a menu, or an app, Windows briefly boosts the CPU for 1–3 seconds so the task finishes faster. On budget PCs, that can make the whole OS feel much snappier. Some users called it a “band-aid,” but Microsoft's Scott Hanselman pushed back and explained that macOS and Linux already do similar things. Modern systems boost CPU speed for interactive tasks because responsiveness matters. "Let Windows cook," Microsoft's legendary dev Scott Hanselman argues in defense of Windows 11's upcoming feature. Of course, Windows 11 needs to be optimized at the code level, but the answer is not “don’t boost the CPU.” Microsoft needs to do the best of both worlds. That means it needs to optimize the code, reduce bloat, and use modern scheduling tricks to make Windows feel fast again.

Update on my end. Sadly, I didn't sample the Autopilot ECU (ape) properly on 04/09 to answer my own question so that's a missed opportunity. I had to decouple the sx-updater from ape and the ape3-trip-weights from the specific ape and cid-updater in my initial snippet. To confirm a few metrics: Autopilot did receive an update from 2026.8.3 to 2026.14.3 for Legacy S/X for MCU2/HW3 (3/Y listed for reference): Autopilot: Bank A: 221,249,600 bytes Bank A (3/Y): 234,471,488 bytes Bank B(Active): 220,545,088 bytes Bank B (3/Y): 236,490,816 bytes Trip Weights: Bank A (what people are reposting): 1,115,852,864 bytes Bank A (3/Y): 1,145,270,336 bytes Bank B (Active): 2,641,301,568 bytes In general FSD impressions, I can't say I noticed anything significant to observe a 15-25% increase of lane selection or smoothness. Because the 3/Y and S/X trip weights are different, I can't discern between FSD and navigation to determine significant findings. To complicate this, AP Weights is still obscured (ie the shadow mode) to me because I didn't take a proper initial sample.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST HW3 update we’ve had in MONTHS. 2026.8.6 is not one build. From what I’ve seen across multiple cars, there appear to be 3 variants: 2026.8.6-A, B, and C. My car is on A, and it feels significantly improved. I’m doing 10+ hours of testing tomorrow to learn more. Here are a few confirmed changes: - Reduced Vision Monitoring (seen in A, B, and C) - Improvements to lane selection (A) - Overall smoothness improvement (A) - Roughly 15 to 25% latency reduction (A) - Matches Tentacle Speed to AI4 (the future prediction blue line is smoother and reacts faster, seems to be on A, potentially C as well) - MAJORLY improved “off-road” performance (more confident starting on rock or grass and finding the road without accelerator presses) - Obstacle avoidance improvements Let me know if any of you experience these as well, and check your service mode for your Bank A, B, Trip Weights and AP weights, make sure to leave them in your comment. #2026.8.6 #HW3 #FSD

@Deandawiz Id be okay with this resolution. If I can be compensated properly then I would be willing to settle up. An FSD transfer alone doesn't meet the bar in recompense, and neither does FSD v14 lite. If I got permanent free supercharging tied to my account, that is a very fair offer.

All the HW3 owners that have lost faith in Elon for bringing them FSD should start a HUGE class action. Elon should let them win on purpose, all of those cars with their vins should absolutely be excluded from any future software updates and or hardware upgrades. Give them their settlement money, let them suffer while watching the other HW3 owners receive update and upgrades free of charge. Then watch as they scramble to purchase an AI4 Tesla and have to pay the monthly subscription for the rest of their lives since they forfeit FSD and believed it was a scam the entire time. Seems fair to me, they get what they want, while the true owners and believers get what they deserve. Sounds unfair? How so? You believe Elon lied to you, fair and square, so you cannot get upset when you realize it wasn't a lie and was just about time. Jokes aside, guys we literally have unsupervised FSD on HW4 for Robotaxi, we are getting v14 lite in a couple weeks, when AI4 consumer cars get approved for Unsupervised Tesla will be working on AI3 cars for retrofits. You can't bring unsupervised consumer FSD to AI3 if unsupervised consumer FSD doesn't exist in the first place.

@scotsrule08 That's rough...Sometimes you get lucky. Sometimes you don't. The thrill is the journey to collect the thousands of data points to draw the prettiest line. My only regret is that Tessie wasn't around in 2016. So all I have is a 2025 snapshot to share with you. Panasonic 18650 NCA.

Battery health check on my 2024 Model Y Performance.🔋 83% at 42,000 miles. Down from 85% at 31k miles just 11,000 miles ago. The degradation has slowed but was so steep initially. 17% capacity lost in under 2 years of ownership. Would you consider this acceptable? Data nerds rejoice 🤓

I agree with you Zack but the angry tone is underserving people. If you don't give credit where credit is due, then there will never be an incentive to do anything to your benefit. I paid $130k to-date. I get it so please...Be calm but firm. If Tesla misses the June 30th target or FSD 14 Lite is a regression of FSD 12.6.4; I will happily join you then.
