Sgt, North West Commercial Vehicle Unit

The RCVU was at Switch island yesterday, this vehicle stopped by the Sgt. vehicle laden with earth but the driver had failed to place the vehicle net on the load - GFPN issues and rectified.

Another stop for the RCVU Sgt. vehicle stopped last week at Sandbach, vehicle weighed more than 5000kg - GFPN 's issued and vehicle prohibited from moving until weight was removed to another vehicle.

Vehicle stopped at Switch Island yesterday by the RCVU Sgt., double crewed unit found - both drivers committed 3 separate drivers hours offences each and were issued 3 x GFPN's each - vehicle prohibited from moving until sufficient rest and fines paid.

@NorthWestCop As a sgt its our responsibility to ensure the troops are looked after and aware of their entitlements. It should be encouraged and the sgt needs to have a word with himself.

Probationer got ridiculed by a Sgt on briefing the other day for claiming overtime for 90 minutes. I spoke up & defended him in a room full of people. Never be ashamed to claim what you're entitled to, police, or otherwise. I made the Sgt look like a tit so we had the last laugh.

Taking part today in Operation Enforcing in @cheshirepolice area on the M6 The RCVU stopped over 25 vehicles and issued 19 GFPN's for various offences. Driver hours, over weight, no insurance, driving on the Hard Shoulder and dangerous condition. Excellent work by the team
