@SkyNews @Chesh Have a look on a map and see where Piddington is. Utter lunacy dumping 1,500 MEN in that location. The village will be swamped.

Piddington in Oxfordshire has become independent from the UK to stop over 1000 male only migrants being dumped in their small village - not sure how the independence works but worth looking into for other areas #Immigration

The government again forcing immigration policies through the back door. Piddington is a small quiet village where I have friends live and family not too far away. This will affect their security and way of life. Let’s make some noise.

@GBNEWS @darrengrimes Apparently, according to Leftist @SkyNews village of Piddington wants to paddle its own canoe in protesting against the huge influx of questionable asylum seekers on their doorstep. Fine, but Sky reporter alleges that other villages have been hijacked by ‘The Far Right.’ Really?

This village in Oxfordshire has voted overwhelmingly in favour of independence from the UK in a fight against Westminster. Following a government proposal to house 1,250 male asylum seekers at a nearby military facility, a vote at Piddington's village hall saw 96 per cent in favour of a referendum to leave the UK. “Put Piddington on the map!"

Piddington has voted to hold a referendum on independence. They won't be the last. We are more divided now than at any point since the Civil War. A village of 350 people. 1,250 single adult male asylum seekers dumped next door by the Home Office. Piddington residents are rightly furious. So what does their Lib Dem MP do? He turns up and demands the villagers sign a “charter of behaviour”.

Residents of a small Oxfordshire village are fighting back against government plans to open a large asylum seeker site nearby. In a hugely significant move, locals in Piddington have voted in favour of holding a referendum to declare independence from the UK. To the incoming Prime Minister, I write as Chair of Piddington Parish Council with a clear message from our village. Faced with the Government’s proposal to house up to 1,250 adult male asylum seekers at Bicester MOD Site A, under a sign-in/sign-out arrangement, the people of Piddington have considered an extraordinary question: whether our village should seek to leave the United Kingdom and become the independent Principality of Piddington. The result: 96% voted in favour of pursuing a referendum, with an extraordinary turnout representing almost two-thirds of our entire village population. This is not a gimmick. It is a measure of how deeply our community feels that its voice must be heard. Prime Minister, an Open Letter setting out our position, our mandate and our request for dialogue is now on its way to you. I will also be publishing a copy here so that our community—and the country—can read it for themselves. We are seeking dialogue. We are seeking a solution. Piddington may be a small Oxfordshire village, but we have found our voice—and we intend to use it. The Principality of Piddington. The Village That Roars. 🐻 I am Spartacus, You are Spartacus, We are Spartacus!! Thank you my friend and appreciate all your comments and they are well received. My dog has had the name of Bear since the day he was born along side his 9 other siblings. Even registered at the Vet as Bear. He is now 3 years and walks the roads and fields of Piddington as a plucky friendly dog and everyone in the village knows and loves him.

🚨 THE PLUCKY VILLAGE THAT REFUSES TO BE IGNORED 🇬🇧 Today, Piddington welcomes Sky News. They are coming to our village to hear first-hand about the impact of the Government’s proposal to accommodate 1,250 asylum seekers at Bicester MOD Site A on the doorstep of our small Oxfordshire community. On Monday, we will also publish our OPEN LETTER to the Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, on his first day in office and as he begins assembling his Cabinet. Our message to the new Government is simple: We mean business. We are not going away. We will not be ignored. But above all, we want a solution. We are organised. We are determined. We are standing together — and we will use every lawful and democratic means available to ensure the voice of our village is heard. We may be small. We may be the underdogs. But never underestimate the resolve of a community fighting for its future.
