It was not. I had work coverage by my wife and son did not. We bought them a Platinum BCBS plan for $200 a month. Immediately on ACA we had to go shit tier coverage and it was $400 per month. Five years later it was $800 a month and they had abysmal coverage. I never made more than $90,000 a year at that time - and that was total household income.

For the kids who are too young to remember, you used to be able to get basically full, complete coverage above a max of $5,000 (aka “catastrophic coverage”) for 90 bucks a month before Obama made it “affordable.”

Because the post I was replying to was someone saying our sanctions make it difficult for foreign companies to do business there, but Cuba’s own policies have been extremely anti business for decades. Cuba basically doesn’t allow companies to operate there unless it’s in partnership with the government Cuba’s problems go much deeper than sanctions
