My expectation is Carson Benge begins the year in Syracuse. Vientos and Baty need consistent everyday at bats to solidify their roles before the Mets can confidently hand regular playing time over to Benge. There’s going to be alot of upset Mets fans but this is 💯 the move! #LGM

It appears the Mets’ bench to begin the season will likely consist of Taylor, Tauchman, Torrens, Vientos, and either Bruján or Cluff. M.J. Melendez is expected to start the year in Syracuse, as he still has a minor league option remaining. Carson Benge is very likely to get the starting right field job.
