Up early finishing an OG N64 Digital install that must have been hiding in a drawer somewhere for a long time! Console was recapped and transplanted into a custom Atomic Purple shell also!

Doing some late night work this evening. Finishing up with one of @borti4938’s N64 Advanced V2 installs. Interesting HDMI solution for the N64 that has a different take from the N64 Digital and Retro GEM. Very straight forward install, great features and uses a full size HDMI!

@Pink_Skelly @Yoei_RetroCOOL I also knew that case looked familiar. Maziora Dreamcast created as a collaboration with the Maziora paint brand. Only 500 were made and were available for order online or won at some racing events. 200 of these were signed by Tadahiko Tair, a Japanese race car driver.

Just finished up with an OG DCDigital install in this super slick shell from @Yoei_RetroCOOL along with all the usual bells and whistles! This is one sexy console, it’s been a very long time since I installed on of these old kits, I can’t tell you how many I did over the years!

@Pink_Skelly I would wrap the light pipe for the power LED with metal tape to make sure only the indicator window is lit🤔

Last order of the weekend, this sweet Retro GEM install on a PS1, along with X-Station, fresh caps, LED swap and lid switch control enabled. I miss working on PS1s, send yours my with if you need any work done on it!

Brings back memories of doing these kits, I still have all the drill blocks from each of the kits I’ve installed for some reason too 😆

@Mark_Mahoon That is a mystery, but the game would consistently freeze while loading a match after the character select screen. Realigned the flex and cleared the bridge and it stopped 🤷‍♂️

@Pink_Skelly But here is the interesting question. Why only on Power Stone? Normally I would expect the freezing on every game at some point.

Had a Dreamcast come in that was experiencing some strange freezing on only one documented game (Power Stone). Console was worked on by someone else, and while the solder work looked solid, there were some things I noticed. Can you spot any issues with the DCDigital flex install?

@crix0r @Voultar Mister you’re missing out on neogeo. Genesis. Sega cd. Master system. Arcade cores. Direct video from a mister into a RT4K is amazing….

Serious question, because I might need to liquidate some hardware soon: What am I missing if I use an SD2SNES and a modded SNES with @Voultar’s edge enhancer in conjunction with a Tink4k vs using an Analogue NT mini Noir or Super NT, or even a MiSTer?

If any of my customers have an issue, I will remedy it. If it’s my fault, I foot the bill, if not, we work out a reasonable solution but troubleshooting and support is a main part of this business, and many of my colleagues know this. Pick a modder than understands this!

To expand on this, mistakes are normal, I’ve made many of them in my nearly 10 years of service. But troubleshooting before and AFTER delivery to your customers is key in this type of work. I have never left one of my customers hanging when they have an issue. (1/2)

If you spotted the misalignment and the clear bridge on the IC then you are correct! The jury is out on which was causing the issue cuz I fixed both and the console is running perfectly now! I suspect the misaligned flex was warming up and bridging which caused the hangup

@gamrjerome The ElectronAVE kit is fantastic, but it does only run GCVideo, which is somewhat limited in its features. The GEM run proprietary software that has loads of unique features and options. Both are great but it really comes down to what the end user wants as far as features.

@Pink_Skelly I installed the ElectronAVE Kit and it was simple install. Curious if there are any advantages for the RetroGen? It costs $110 more.

Another Wii RetroGEM finished up and ready to head back to its owner and be enjoyed! I’ve been doing a lot of these lately and have been enjoying them, let me know if you need your kit installed with one of my factory quality HDMI holes!

The only thing worse than @SimpliSafe’s smoke detectors are their cameras. I’m finally getting around to fixing that, starting with the shop then the house. Installing these RioLink POE turret cameras on each corner of the shop. Also designed this corner mount with a little roof to help protect the camera from the elements. I’ve been testing these cameras inside for a few days now and I think I’ll grab a few more for indoors too.
