Serious question, because I might need to liquidate some hardware soon: What am I missing if I use an SD2SNES and a modded SNES with @Voultar’s edge enhancer in conjunction with a Tink4k vs using an Analogue NT mini Noir or Super NT, or even a MiSTer?

@clearvus Good point! Though I do wonder if I could stick with a Mister, sans SD2SNES, and get the same ease of use and longevity. Tough call. Will likely try and offload the analogue devices. If only to clear up the clutter hehe.

@crix0r I feel like it's just longevity thing: I don't know how long my SNES will continue to work after even recapping vs the Analogue stuff which should last well beyond my lifetime. Functionality wise, the Analogue stuff works really well, so you're probably not losing much either way

@RetroJeff83 Yup, same - I’ve got my mister going into the Tikk4k, too. Just trying to determine if I really need these analogue consoles or if k can offload’em without missing something.

@crix0r I have original hardware and OEM SNES and I do 99% of my playing on the Mister honestly. It can be hooked to a scaler, or CRT via analog out. Form factor is nice and small, plus can do way more than just SNES so if you are looking to downsize its pretty much the best option

Long ago in the 90s, guy known as “Y0SHi/koitsu” reverse engineered the NES and SNES and created technical documents that paved the way for so many of the retro emulators we have today. If you could ask him anything, what would you ask? Asking for a friend. ;)
