Republicans like to mock Beto’s 2018 campaign, but he only lost by about 2%. Ted Cruz is a much better candidate than Paxton. The environment was much more favorable to Republicans then than the 2026 environment will be. Talarico has a shot, and all the overconfidence is a sign of tremendous weakness.
