The thing that I wonder about is how Hawking and Penrose repeatedly got away with saying equally stupid shit — nobody complains that Hawking was a publicity hound or a "science populist", even though he was one of the worst offenders.

I talk a lot of shit about Modern Fallout, but there's something it nails that the OG's don't: exploration. There's something incredibly cool about cresting another Wasteland horizon, checking out a distant abandoned building. I used to do a lot of urban exploration as a kid, and that's exactly what it feels like. I also really enjoy the weird sense of Post Apocalyptic Anthropology that comes with exploring once inhabited places. Don't get me wrong, Bethesda undercooks the majority of these places - but their environmental team can be top notch sometimes. Now imagine if their worldbuilding and writing matched the cool feel of their locations?

Whatever this aesthetic is, I love it

Claude Code rate limits are way better now. I'm at 27% of my session limit and I've been vibe coding all morning with Claude Opus 4.7. 23% of my weekly limit used. A week ago I was hitting limits in 2 hours. Anthropic actually fixed the rate limits.

I'm blitzing through my usage so fast, 17% gone in a day, which is a record for me. That's using GPT-5.5 medium, high and xhigh interchangeably. No fast mode. I'm probably gonna get close to 100% by day 7 at this rate. Fearful when 2x limits go. I'm on the $200 Pro sub too.
