@Intel_Dork There are always conditions to love. Random person: I love my children unconditionally. Me: What if your eldest child raped your other children with a butcher knife before eating them? Random person: Aaaah! What is wrong with you? Me: I rest my case.

@squidlord @nathan_strange I never really look at the original books these days - I strip the images, convert the books to plain text with markup for tables, and read them in VS Code, white system font on black background for maximum density. Then I create Foundry modules if I decide to use them.

But while we're talking about layout that really works, let's talk about a simpler design, in particular *ShadowDark*, which is not a game that I would ever run myself, in part because I don't do GMful games anymore. But the layout is beautifully crisp and so nicely, tightly presented that it's worth showing off. In this case, I'm grabbing what I have to hand, which is @ChubbyFunsterGC 's *The Sunless Fane*, which is a great example. Again, 6x9 format. An excellent choice of font for readability. It doesn't have quite as much interline whitespace, but it's so clear that you don't mind it so much. I could use the body font being just a little bit darker and just a little bit more baseline height to get a little more space between the lines, but that's a very minor quibble. The perfectly black square headers are clear and easy to find when you're flipping through. Good use some bold to help you read what are some pretty dense stat blocks. Frankly, this is just good stuff, and *ShadowDark* in general has great structure in the core book and in a lot of the third-party content. If we're going to brag on something, it's a good thing to brag on. (cont)

I am a picky bastard when it comes to editing and layout, and I make no bones about it. So when I run into someone else who is of similar mind, it's a glorious moment. Here is some discussion about *Old Gods of Appalachia*. youtu.be/rB48dusVQSw

@RazorwireRPG Factions are what make Planescape so interesting. I do wish more of the factions were featured in Planescape: Torment. Of course, they could never include everything I want in the game - they would still be developing it to this day.

I love faction dynamics as apart of the main story in RPG's. You already heard me whine about "Chosen One" games, but I fucking love games where you meet a different bunch of groups and their leaders. I don't even care about the "realism" of it or whatever, I just love interacting with a range of different factions and their ideologies, problems and people. I especially love it when I can affect the future of these groups and that then dovetails into the primary plot. Obviously, New Vegas does this well - but the other two GOATS are Dragon Age: Origins and the Mass Effects games. All of these games clearly outline the plights of their people, they all have intricate and interesting histories AND most importantly: either fascinating leaders or companions that affect your playthrough. Just the coolest type of RPG's, man.

Italy is causing an uproar after drafting laws to castrate rapists and pedophiles so they can NEVER reoffend or reproduce. Critics are calling it "state sanctioned torture." Is this torture or justice?

This story is horrific. This girl with mental issues was taken from her parents and thrown in a state-run facility with MENA migrant minors. They then gang-raped her. It traumatised her and led to a suicide attempt which left her paraplegic. Today, Spain will euthanise her.

Seems like getting off easy. As soon as they stop taking the meds, the clock starts ticking down to the ability to reoffend. While one might argue the ethics of a physical castration of a rapist, I seriously cannot see any ethical or moral issue with the physical castration of a pedophile. I would prefer a noose but if I had to compromise, that would be my idea.

@TheActMan_YT @TimSweeneyEpic Sometimes, you just need to fire decent employees so everyone else is left wondering if they are next. They stop asking for raises, they work later, they get milestones done on time. This is a director's cheat code for keeping your budget in check and maximising you bonus.

In 2005, everything changed! The "PlayStation Portable" (PSP) was released and it did more than make gaming portable...it made entertainment personal, mobile, and always within reach. It was the beginning of life on the go.

I am convinced that this guy is like that Canadian wood shop teacher with the Z cup breast implants whose actions are so absurd that it's far more likely that he's just pushing the woke envelope to the extreme just to see at what point people are willing to finally admit that the emperor is, in fact, naked Hear anything new about our pal @SwipeWright? German neo-Nazi Sven Liebich was sent to a women’s prison after declaring himself a female. Now he wants to be called ‘Anne Frank’ and have his gender listed as ‘diverse’. This is the lunacy of ‘trans rights’ in action, says Georgina Mumford buff.ly/fGJEPXq

@A_DungeonDelver @YoDanno I love the Easley covers because they beautifully capture the epic scope of experiences possible within D&D. But those original books really made you feel like you discovered ancient tomes of lost knowledge.

*Trampier and Sutherland Honestly, I don't know that Easley's stuff would have drawn me to the game as much as the older aesthetic. And I love Jeff Easley's work. His portrait of sleeping Drelzna is easily one of the best AD&D art pieces out there.

My wife was formerly promiscuous. I was a virgin. She was then radically born-again. Committed to church, evangelized constantly, Puritan books in her bedroom, prayer journals, grief over past sexual sin, etc. We got to know each other well for over a year, dated for four months, engaged for two and a half, and didn't sin sexually with one another. Our first kiss with each other was at the altar on our wedding day (reaction pic attached!). We've been married for over five years now, and she's been the most wonderful and godly wife, mother to our three children, and homemaker you could imagine. She's more pure than most virgins, as biblical purity has less to with past sins (though they certainly matter) and more to do with one's current posture of the heart and daily decisions to honor the Lord (Matt. 5:8). We're far too quick to forget the story of the woman labeled as a known "sinner" (likely a prostitute) in Luke 7:36-50 who was washing Jesus' feet with her tears while kissing them too. The Pharisees were shocked that Jesus let a public sinner do this. Jesus responded with a parable about debts being forgiven and ended with this powerful conclusion: "Her many sins have been forgiven; that’s why she loved much. But the one who is forgiven little, loves little" (Luke 7:47). Everyone seems to highlight the benefits of virginity, and it certainly is a blessing. But we forget to highlight the benefits of being forgiven much as well. My wife knows the depths of Jesus' forgiveness more than most people, enabling her to more easily live out a life of passionate love for her Savior. A woman or man's past sexual sin matters. But what matters far more when it comes to deciding who to marry is if the person is truly born again, if their repentance is real, if they truly have a heart for Christ, if they truly follow Jesus and obey his commands. "God has chosen what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen what is weak in the world to shame the strong. God has chosen what is insignificant and despised in the world — what is viewed as nothing — to bring to nothing what is viewed as something, so that no one may boast in his presence. It is from him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom from God for us — our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, — in order that, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" (1 Cor. 1:27-31) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17)

If someone argues that a former promiscuous woman is "damaged goods" and questions whether a Christian young man should marry her, remember Rahab. She was a Canaanite prostitute but became a mother in the lineage of Jesus. God redeemed her, cleansed her, and Salmon married her.
