@ninad101 @bhatnaturally Tulsidas. Ramayana, Hanuman Chalisa. The most popular verses Indians recite everyday were written by him during that period. He was indeed a contemporary of Shakespeare.

@TooMuchMortons_ Also it’s *probably* better to have manager growing pains in the first few games so that he defaults to a Shildt approach quickly

@PlateauSpokane Was wondering that too with the DH thing but if they said yesterday was a scheduled day off. And if they wanted to get Bryce in there he’s the better defender.

Should Logan O'Hoppe have challenged that pitch? Maybe so. But whats to say d'Arnaud wouldve challenged it? I personally don't think he would have. O'Hoppe has been pretty damn good at knowing when to challenge or not, just didnt pull the trigger there. You're gonna have a lot of fans be more pissed off at their own players than the umpires now that ABS is in play, just the way its going to go unfortunately. And while some fans are going to deem this loss on not challenging a pitch, there was still 5ER by the starter, 9 walks allowed by the pitching and an error in this one. #Angels

A question for my TL. Does the “horror” genre put you off?
Shweta@shramdas

@greatbong I enjoyed it. As other readers have said, the horror genre was not appealing, but thought I'd read the sample on Amazon. And then couldn't stop until the end :).

Is Govt Planning To Resolve Chicken's Neck Issue By Making A Part Of Bihar and Bangal A UT? In Bihar, retired Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain, a respected Indian Army officer known for his experience in counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as Governor. His career has been closely associated with handling complex security challenges, particularly in sensitive regions. Such a choice indicates a potential focus on strengthening governance and security coordination in Bihar, especially in districts bordering Nepal and the sensitive Seemanchal belt. In West Bengal, the appointment of R. N. Ravi as Governor is particularly notable. A former Indian Police Service officer of the Kerala cadre, Ravi previously served as Deputy National Security Advisor and has long been considered a trusted associate of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. His experience in national security and intelligence operations positions him as a significant figure in managing politically and strategically sensitive environments. The simultaneous appointment of two figures with strong security backgrounds has fueled speculation that the central government may be preparing for deeper administrative and security interventions in eastern India. The region surrounding the Siliguri Corridor, often referred to as the “Chicken’s Neck”, is one of India’s most strategically vital geographic zones. The corridor’s importance has been repeatedly highlighted in national security discussions, particularly after controversial statements made during the CAA by activist Sharjeel Imam, who suggested that blocking the Siliguri Corridor could isolate India’s Northeast. His remarks drew attention to the strategic fragility of the region and triggered serious debate within security circles about demographic, logistical, and infrastructural vulnerabilities. Infrastructure projects in eastern India have also gained momentum. Major highway corridors connecting Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the northeastern gateway are being expanded, including multi-lane highways linking regions such as Sasaram, Begusarai, and the Seemanchal belt to the Siliguri region. These projects are widely viewed as efforts to strengthen logistical mobility and strategic depth in a sensitive corridor. Political developments in Bihar have also raised questions about governance transitions. The debate surrounding leadership changes has often been linked to concerns about administrative efficiency and the need for stronger control in border districts. At the same time, discussions about illegal encroachments and demographic changes in border regions have intensified, particularly in areas close to Bangladesh. Reports have also emerged about increased focus on clearing illegal encroachments within a 10-kilometer belt along international borders in Bihar. Such measures are often associated with strengthening border management, facilitating fencing operations, and enabling security forces to operate more effectively in frontier zones. The broader regional context further complicates the situation. Political changes in Bangladesh, evolving dynamics in Myanmar, and shifting geopolitical alignments across South Asia have made eastern India strategically more sensitive. The northeastern gateway, anchored by the Siliguri Corridor, has therefore become central to India’s long-term national security planning. Within this environment, speculation has emerged in political circles that administrative restructuring could be considered in certain regions of Bihar and West Bengal. Districts in highly sensitive border belts, such as parts of Malda, Murshidabad, Seemanchal, and adjoining frontier regions, might eventually see stronger central administrative oversight. While such ideas remain speculative, the discussion itself reflects growing concern about governance and security in the eastern frontier. Another factor influencing the debate is the role of political stability in implementing large-scale security and administrative reforms. Many observers argue that such initiatives typically require strong coordination between the central government and state administrations. Taken together, the appointments of governors with deep national security experience, the renewed focus on border management, the development of strategic infrastructure, and the political shifts in Bihar all suggest that eastern India may be entering a phase of heightened strategic attention. The region’s geography, demographics, and geopolitical environment make it one of the most sensitive theaters in India’s internal and external security landscape.

I just don’t see where the Padres can upgrade that would make a difference. They have backend depth for 1B/DH and SP. Maybe a smaller trade for a backup catcher? Doubt you’ll get anything major at this point for a big value piece like Estrada.

@TooMuchMortons_ Gotta feel there will be a trade before opening day. Got too much talent even after the guys posted here
