Amanda Berry escaped after nearly 10 years in captivity in Cleveland, Ohio.
Abducted at age 16, she was held with Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus by Ariel Castro. While Castro was out, Amanda kicked open a door, fled with her 6-year-old daughter, and screamed for help.
A neighbour rushed to assist. She called 911: "Help me! I'm Amanda Berry. I've been kidnapped and missing for 10 years.
I'm free now."Police rescued the other two women. Castro was sentenced to life plus 1,000 years and later died by suicide.
Amanda’s courageous escape ended a decade of horror and freed all three survivors.
