The Niners holding out for an “astronomical” offer for Mac Jones speaks volumes, and says one of two things:
1) a tacit admission the organization has little to no faith in Brock staying healthy for a full season...in which case, why exactly are you committing $53M a year to him?
2) a stark indictment of the front office’s grasp of its own roster. Hoarding a backup QB is a luxury for a complete team, not one riddled with obvious holes.
Either way, it's roster-building malpractice.
