I had a conversation with a bhakt neighbour (formerly CPM) this morning regarding the situation in Bangladesh. His clear stance was that the Government of West Bengal should step forward and take measures to stop the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
When I pointed out that the Ministry of External Affairs is not under TMC but under the BJP led central government, he responded that the BJP has plenty of other things to handle and why would they bother about such a “small” issue 🤷🏻
I laughed and asked him why Assam isn’t taking any action, given that it shares a border with Bangladesh. He replied that Assam has a BJP government and that the BJP should not involve itself in external affairs unless India itself is attacked.
I then asked, “So you mean to say that anything happening in Bangladesh shouldn’t concern India at all? Then why are you demanding that TMC take action?” His response was, “Because we are Hindus, and Hindu lives matter.”
I said , “Ok! Makes sense.” and left the spot wondering how even former CPM supporters have become so ignorant and thoroughly brainwashed these days 🤷🏻
