When we consider the misdeeds of BMC & our politicians--encroached roads, pollution that chokes, insane traffic, delayed Metro lines and the chaos that is Powai/Chandivali today, ghosts are nowhere on our list of worries. We have far more dangerous things to be worried about
Sivoham Thakkur@night_ridersc8

@ChandivaliCCWA @mypowai @PlanetPowai @PowaiView Ghost was beleived to be seen in #NaharAmritShakti area after two back to back accidental deaths in that area. Locals passing by have seen paranormal activity late at night.. Can anyone from #NaharAmritShakti confirm this?

6 days ago - someone had posted about the metro pillar crack on the same Mulund stretch (marked in red) @MMRDAOfficial being the bhikarchot org it is, painted it, said the tweet is fake news, asked cyber cell to take action against the person, & announced all is well. marked in dark blue is where the slab fell today on a car & rickshaw & 1 person died what will it take to make @mybmc accountable? if the ministers are first to take credit then they should assume this liability too fyi - all the accused from the Ghatkopar Hoarding case are out on bail since early 2025 - 17 people died in it

Residents of @ChandivaliCCWA have decided to celebrate 2nd anniversary of "BMC Jhoot Bolo" cake cutting ceremony. For BMC's lies and delay in constructing 90 feet road connecting JVLR to Chandivali. For years now, Chandivali residents are demanding completion of the 90ft road which is a key connector between Chandivali and JVLR.

@airtelbank @MumbaiMetro3 I asked about Mumbai Metro 3 (Aqua Line) @airtelbank -- it's pathetic that you don't reveal that the line does not accept NCMC cards. Also sad that months after opening @MumbaiMetro3 does not accept NCMC. Well at least stations get flooded, so that must be the USP of the line!

After spending crores on concretising a critically important connector road, BMC refuses to open it and illegal slum dwellers make merry. Remember this when candidates come to ask for votes in BMC elections.
Chandivali Citizens Welfare Association (CCWA)@ChandivaliCCWA

Optimum utilisation of Dp road 9, Powai! Pedestrians 🚷 not allowed. Cars not allowed. Road concretisation is done for drying clothes, parking & hawkers. Right under the nose of Powai Police station @PowaiPS. @MTPHereToHelp @mybmcInfra @VarshaEGaikwad

26-year-old Tejas Naidu died on Monday because BMC did not pay heed to citizens' complaints to prune trees in Vikhroli's Kannamwar Nagar. 🚨🌲 Tejas was taking shelter under a tree in a playground in Vikhroli during Monday's downpour when this tree collapsed. Residents from Kannamwar Nagar alleged that they had repeatedly complained to BMC to prune trees in the area but BMC's S ward officials did not listen. BMC's response? As per this article in Hindustan times by @linahOlinah, a senior gardens department official acknowledged the incident, saying, “We had pruned the tree earlier, but its roots had decayed. It collapsed and fatally injured one person. The area is a playground, and due to heavy rains, people were taking shelter under it.”

Triple engine corruption?

Illegal mela at BMC managed ground Matoshree Meenatai Thackeray Maidan taken down! Thank you, @mid_day, @diptivsingh, and Ritika Gondhalekar, for amplifying citizens' voices. But the matter of concern remains. 1) @mybmcwardL garden department has been robbed of around Rs. 4,20,000/-, as the mela organisers occupied the ground without paying the rent to @mybmc for 21 days, that is, 15 days for the setup and 6 days of the mela; the rent of the ground is around Rs. 20,000 per day. 2) Where was the electricity taken from? Were the electricity charges paid, or was it stolen? 3) Illegal activities were going on in the BMC ground for 21 days straight. Why did @MumbaiPolice, @Sakinaka_PS and @mybmc not take suo moto cognisance of the matter until the issue was highlighted by citizens, @mid_day and @VarshaEGaikwad? 4) Who collected the money from the vendors, and where was it spent ? 5) The duty of the lawmakers is to uphold the law and not to encourage those who violate it. Even after the @mid_day had highlighted the event was illegal, our MLA @Mi_DilipLande attended the event and felicitated the people present there on Friday night, i.e., on 4th May 2025. @SachinKalbag @CMOMaharashtra @CPMumbaiPolice @DcpZone10Mumbai

The MCGM Ground in Raheja Vihar has been redeveloped after spending good amount of public money. It is all ready for the past one month but it is not opened for public yet!! Hundreds of children (summer vacation has started) & senior citizens are deprived of access to this ground. Who is responsible for keeping this ground closed? Urging @mybmcwardL authorities to open this ground immediately. @VarshaEGaikwad @Mi_DilipLande

We love pets and animals and should stand for them when they are discriminated against (not allowed in lifts for instance), but irresponsible pet parents should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-…

Why does BMC not care about fire risk in Powai despite the many high rises? Why the only "for-show" fire stations? Do Powaikars pay lesser tax? Are we second class citizens?
Chandivali Citizens Welfare Association (CCWA)@ChandivaliCCWA

Today a fire erupted at the Sai Sapphire building in Powai today around 9.30 am.  A few meters away is a minifire station, which has neither staff nor a fire engine. This issue has been raised several times by us and amplified by the media. Despite that, this important resource is wasted by @mybmc, and no efforts have been taken by them to make this fire station fully functional. This demand has been raised in the Chandivali Cha Manifesto during the MP and MLA elections. This is the condition of Mumbai after a BMC budget of Rs. 74000 crores. @VarshaEGaikwad @Mi_DilipLande @TOIMumbai @HTMumbai @richapintoi @mid_day @MirrorNow @fpjindia @lokmat @LokmatMumbai

Ask yourself -- would the govt and BMC permit a cement plan in South Mumbai? And one that merrily polluted? This shows the attitude towards those of us who live in the suburbs. We are second class citizens.
Chandivali Citizens Welfare Association (CCWA)@ChandivaliCCWA

Despite several complaints made to @mpcb_official and @mybmcWardL , no action has been taken against the Relcon cement plant located on Vijay Fire road, Chandivali for not complying with the rules laid down by MPCB. RMC is located in the residential area and is densely populated with high rises. We demand that the licence and NOC given to the Relcon RMC plant to be revoked immediately. This shall give relief to residents from breathing in toxic air filled with cement particles. @VarshaEGaikwad @Mi_DilipLande @CMOMaharashtra @ShelarAshish @lokmat @Lungase_Sachin

Great to see @ChandivaliCCWA represented in this story. Residents of Chandivali, you are among the few localities in Mumbai where some honest, hardworking citizens are trying to bring about genuine change. More power to CCWA! hindustantimes.com/cities/mumbai-…

@mulund_info @manthanmTOI That's a different matter and sadly Delhi beats Mumbai there too. The issue here is claiming Mumbai Metro will leave metro in Delhi NCR behind in terms of network size. Not till hell freezes over, if network in Delhi in 2030 is nearly double of what Mumbai plans by 2041.

So Mumbai will have 487 km of metro by 2041 says @manthanmTOI and that beats Delhi's 350 km. Small issue before celebrations: Delhi NCR has 395.2 kms of metro lines TODAY. In 2026 (Phase 4 completion) it will be nearly 500 kms, NOT INCLUDING RRTS which is 82 km 1/2 @mulund_info
मुलुंड info@mulund_info

Excellent, Metro line 8 to connect Mumbai Airport to upcoming Navi Mumbai Airport. Disappointed though it does not share Interchange Station with Line 4. So Mulund/Thanekars with Luggage have 2 change Metro twice or tk Cab frm Garodia Nagar to mankhurd Metro Stn 🗞️: @manthanmTOI
