@SenWarren Are you also proposing that they get higher benefits commensurate with their higher payments? Or are you going to admit that Social Security isn't a retirement program at all?

Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos shouldn't be paying the same amount in Social Security tax as someone making $175,000 a year. Billionaires are not paying their fair share.

The average American couple's monthly obligations: - Mortgage: $2,400. - Cars: $1,100 - Insurance: $620 - Subscriptions: $340 - Minimum payments: $480 Total: $4,940 - Before food. - Before utilities. - Before anything breaks. They're not living paycheck to paycheck They're living obligation to obligation.

@UziCryptoo Ok. Then governments are banned from raising property taxes. Ever. And I don't mean the percentages... I mean that it cannot ever increase the nominal dollars that the landlords have to pay. Furthermore, the landlord's employees can not get a raise. Ever.

Unpopular opinion: Landlords should not be able to increase rent unless they're upgrading the apartment.

The Pentagon is spending $1 billion per day on the Iran war. That the United States does not have. In other words, precious metals continue to get more attractive relative to the currency of a bankrupt nation.

@shaguncrypto Wrong. Average life expectancy for someone who actually makes it to 65 years old is 84.5 years. The 77 years figure includes all the people who die young.

Most people retire at 65. Most people live to be 77. 45 years of 9-5 life. Few years of freedom? We must change this mindset.

My uncle has $520,000 in his 401k. - Keeps the AC at 78 in summer. - Drives 20 minutes to save $3 on gas. - Still uses a phone from 2016. Says he’s being careful. I asked him once… What are you saving it for? He paused. …For later. He’s 64. 🙄

@StealthQE4 I honestly can't see any way to de-escalate this. Trump screwed up horribly, and there's no coming back from it that won't make him look like an absolute moron.

Serious question: How do you deescalate this now if you’re Trump? We’re on the brink of getting to a point where there’s no turning back. Maybe we are there now.

@shaguncrypto Cover rent where? Where I live, rent is about $12,000 per year. It doesn't take 2,800 hours to earn that. BTW, 2,800 hours is more than 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year. NOBODY ANYWHERE pays that much for rent.

Boomers needed 650 hours to cover a year’s rent Millennials needed 1,800 hours Gen Z now needs 2,800 hours But yeah… just skip coffee and you’ll be fine 😶

Jeff Bezos has $222 billion. If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over. And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.

@SenWarren So we could do all that with $7 billion? Remind me again how much we gave to Ukraine in 2023.

@_JACKASS_98 @skumWgmi 99% of these posts complaining about costs are just blue state problems. Here, $95k would be MORE than enough to buy a house, two cars, take care of two kids, and let one of the parents stay home!

@skumWgmi This is when individual state prices makes no sense to me cause 95k is almost triple my income and I pay for the same expenses. It should be a crime that 95k wouldn’t be basically rich everywhere because near me that is wealthy

@Rajatsoni The house itself should go down, yes. The land should actually appreciate, but nearly all of the purchase price is the house. Of course, house prices are actually down since 2000 when measured in gold.

Morally I have a severe problem with this. I don’t think we are the “good guys” anymore. We’ve gone full rogue. The events I’m watching are things that I never thought I’d see us ever do to anyone. It’s really disturbing

@Tekeee If that internet isn't a 1Tbps dedicated fiber optic line, then you're getting seriously ripped off. That power bill is insane too. I've never paid more than $150 in a single month, and that was midsummer with the AC running non-stop!
