I'm sad to lose the Epiphany, one of our must beautiful Feasts when properly observed. Two nearby churches observed it 3 days early (!). I can't find any local parish with a service on Jan 6. I wish I could go to the proper one at St Thomas Fifth. It will be livestreamed at 5:30.

Some things are bigger than sports. Take a minute to say a prayer for the communities affected in Australia and at Brown University tonight. No matter where, when or how, violence is never the answer. Hate is a disease… and has no place in our society.

Being Lutheran in non-Lutheran spaces means that you want to share with others the beauty and depth of the theology, while hoping they don't wander into Lutheran FB groups, where they'd be exposed to heated arguments on whether blue or purple are the correct color for Advent.

@drantbradley Key distinction: is God the primary agent in Holy Baptism, or are human beings? Admittedly, I’m Lutheran with Confessional commitments, but the Biblical answer seems to be the former.

Anglicans, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Methodists, etc. if you want to hear the most nonsense explanation of why a child who professes faith in Christ should not be baptized until later in the teenage years, I present you this… [Unreal]
