Force sensing for low-cost robot arms — without adding force sensors.
🚀 Excited to share FACTR 2! 🚀
FACTR 2 enables external torque sensing on low cost arms and uses it to improve policy learning.

At ICRA 2026, our research group achieved two major outcomes.
Our ICRA paper, “TaSA: Two-Phased Deep Predictive Learning of Tactile Sensory Attenuation for Improving In-Grasp Manipulation,” was featured in Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun.

In addition, our poster presentation, “A uSkin Fingertip with a Tactile Fingernail for Contact-Rich Dexterous Manipulation,” received the Best Poster Award at the ICRA workshop “Dexterity with Multifingered Hands: Hardware, Sensing, and Skills.”
We will continue to push forward with our research, and we sincerely appreciate your continued support.

今回のICRA2026では、本研究グループから2つの成果を出しました。
ICRA論文「TaSA: Two-Phased Deep Predictive Learning of Tactile Sensory Attenuation for Improving In-Grasp Manipulation」が、日刊工業新聞に取り上げられました。 nikkan.co.jp/articles/view/…
ICRAワークショップのDexterity with Multifingered Hands: Hardware, Sensing, and Skillsにおいて、ポスター発表「A uSkin Fingertip with a Tactile Fingernail for Contact-Rich Dexterous Manipulation」がBest Poster Awardを受賞しました。 (動画添付、指と爪両方に触覚センサを付け、より安定したカードフリップ動作を実現)
引き続き研究頑張りますので、関係者の皆様よろしくお願いいたします。

@yamini_speaks Wow, so far usually they just go without saying sorry and escape which is kinda normalized but this… this is another level of arrogance.
