Cats abandoned by the government.
Cats Protection is dismayed at the lack of meaningful protections for cats and kittens in the Animal Welfare Strategy.
Our open letter calls on the government to:
🔸️End harmful cat breeding practices through regulation.
🔸️Ban electric shock collars.
🔸️Introduce a single point of search for microchipping databases.
🔸️Provide clarity on the timelines for plans to: enforce current animal welfare legislation, ban cruel and inhumane snare traps, protect animals within rescue and rehoming organisations.
🔸️Help us put pressure on the government to take immediate and meaningful action to protect cats from further harm.

Ridglan Farms is one of the worst dog abusing corporations. It breeds and sells Beagles for the most sadistic, gratuitous dog experiments. The conditions are disgusting and illegal, yet officials are protecting it.
These heroes are there this morning, trying to rescue them.

Wayne was just arrested while attempting to "serve" Ridglan and its security team with a lawsuit alleging violent threats by armed men against peaceful animal advocates. Police arrested him immediately with no reason given and took the papers from him. Other activists are arriving on scene now for a historic action. Stay tuned. #RightToRescue

Waves of tear gas: Peaceful animal lovers are being tear gassed, pepper sprayed, and fired at with rubber bullets at Ridglan Farms. At least a dozen activists have been arrested. Hundreds of others are on the property now trying to rescue the dogs.

In my district, a beagle breeding facility called Ridglan Farms has hundreds of code violations, including serious harm to the health of the dogs, yet the NIH is still giving funding to groups that use the beagles from this facility. Today, I urged Secretary Kennedy to stop this practice.

I reported at length on the rancid conditions in which these beagles are kept in 2018. These dogs are bred solely to be experimented on, then killed. Beagles are particularly trusting and loving, which is why they're used.
