Delhi Gymkhana being described as a symbol of civilisation & heritage. (Having played tennis there as a kid, swam in the pool & enjoyed many an evening with friends never saw the Gymkhana as a symbol of civilisation or Indian heritage.) Wondering what’s the real back story here…

Delhi Gymkhana Club with roughly 14K members, has dominated the national conversation today. That is about 0.042% of Delhi’s population. And roughly 0.001% of India’s population. Yet almost every prominent handle, commentator and power circle voice has spoken about it nonstop. Speaks volumes about our national priorities, our echo chambers and who gets amplified in India.

It’s a club not institution… serving alcohol or luxury amenities on subsidised rate is not cultural institution… better go to khan market.

Now the case of banning golf in India is becoming very strong. While elites play tennis in gymkhana they play golf in golf club at govt leased place on cheap rental. Like gymkhana it shd be closed for making a cow shelter or stray dogs area as directed by SC to house them separately. And if focus is on non elite then @narendramodi use rehabilitation of slums. This no would mind ie throwing out rich to accommodate the poor. Same thing shd be done with Habitat, IIC, Constitution Club. What about the sarkari club in Chanakyapuri CSOI whose president is cabinet secretary

I am amongst the voice of the opposition in INDIA & everyday I attack the government on television & social media, am severely critical of the PM & his ministers and no one has ever taken any action against me. I find it offensive you compare my country's press freedom with Emirates or Cuba ! CNG rates have been increased by Re 1 from today. In Delhi, per KG CNG will cost Rs 80.09. In Noida-Ghaziabad, per KG CNG will cost Rs 88.70. This is the second increase in prices in 2 Days. Earlier on 15th May, CNG prices were increased to Rs 2/KG.
