@CommandoSense2 @DSPetolicchio If children could be cryogenically frozen to give them better chances of survival (for which it does embryos) then yes, that would be ok. You don’t comfort your child in utero when they’re upset. It’s ok to treat them differently at different stages bc of what’s possible

@ProLifeIVF @DSPetolicchio Your account name uses the term “IVF”, but it sounds like you don’t know much about how the embryos are treated. What if we froze born children like embryos? Would that be okay?

@Chase_a_saurus Nobody “has to go through IVF.” Children are not a right. We speak about these things as though we don’t have a choice so we don’t have to deal with the difficult bits.

Good hell people don’t understand IVF. 34 eggs retrieved. 10 fertilized. 2 matched. Even if 10 fertilized, only 2 may survive. They don’t specify that and it’s honestly not anyone’s business. They didn’t “discard” 32 lives you dumb uneducated fucks. Start looking at it like the medical miracle it is instead of “playing god”. I guarantee if you had to go through IVF your view would be COMPLETELY different. But instead you push your incorrect information to fit your narrative. Educate yourself just slightly so you don’t look so dumb to those that actually know the process and what it entails.
Josh Wood@J_K_Wood

The Boozer’s son had sickle cell. They created 34 embryos via IVF to find a “Savior Baby.” 32 were discarded as undesirable or non-matches. 2 were selected, conceived to harvest their cord blood at birth. The media calls it miraculous. That miracle required a body count🧵

@JonnyRoot_ @Outkick IVF is not wonderful. It is only wonderful when it is governed by God's principles. Creating 34 embryos and destroying 32 is wicked.

The way Carlos Boozer and his wife Cece used IVF to help create their twins who now play at Duke & treat their first child who was fighting sickle cell, has sparked a pro-life debate. My latest for @outkick: outkick.com/sports/birth-d…

@evanwch Also IVF is expensive and a lot of tech companies offer it for their employees making it more accessible in SF than elsewhere.

@eyesupfeetmovin It wasn’t 34 embryos if you watch The video. And definitely not typical use of IVF

@JonSpeedTheBook PGTA is non díagnostic. It’s about viability not selecting traits or conditions

@Jasbolt @JonnyRoot_ I think you misread my comment. This is a gray area for a lot of people. It’s also an unusual use of IVF

@ProLifeIVF @JonnyRoot_ But go ahead and defend this guy’s public criticism of a family’s personal choices he has never had to face (then maybe find a nice church)

NBA great Carlos Boozer & his wife, Cece, used IVF to create 34 embryos in order to save their child, Carmani who had sickle cell. Only 2 were selected: Duke basketball star twins Cameron & Cayden. The rest of the children were disposed of, considered “undesireable” because they weren’t a match. “I’m sure there’s a lot of people that think that’s wrong, but I don’t.” - Cece Boozer While fighting to save their son’s life, a great desire, they treated the children created through IVF, as expendable, “spare parts, raw material for others survival” - @J_K_Wood I’m thankful for the health of Carmani, but when children are treated as a commodity, they’re not seen as human. They’re a means to an end, where we play God and decide who desires life and death. That’s dystopian and evil. 🎥: @espn

@ProLifeIVF it’s very clear that there’s not even one single shred of common ground we share about our view of humanity and what human beings are.

@ProLifeIVF in general, there are some things we should not mess with and I think this is one of them. We have no business playing at being Gods. No good can ever come from that

@cdmikes @tbuie912 @JonnyRoot_ This is a common misconception. Most traits are determined in utero after embryos are transferred. And when people think CRISPR they don’t realize how complex individual traits are genetically.

@PLazarinho Why? Transferring all your embryos has no ethical issues. That’s the most common use

@Jasbolt @JonnyRoot_ Most people transfer all their embryos. Selection like this is extremely uncommon. PGT-M accounts for ~2-6% use and this is a subset of that

@JonnyRoot_ Your disdain honestly has nothing to do with this scenario. You’re obviously opposed to all IVF as selection occurs in most IVF interventions. Your willingness to judge, diminish, and ridicule a family making difficult choices tells me al I need to know about you. Thank you.
