Today saw @LNER fully implement the Dec 2025 timetable with the last 5 services of the phased launch being introduced. This means a single return IC225 service now operates north of York each day for the first time since Sep 2020-today 91114 leads 1N09 to Newcastle @225groupuk

Here is 91114 on arrival at Newcastle where it seems a small army of 225 enthusiasts were waiting to welcome it. What an incredible atmosphere! We’re enjoying seeing everyone’s pictures and videos from today’s first @LNER InterCity 225 passenger service north of York since 2020.

I couldn't take any pictures during it, but I've been to the @NTRLincoln to see "An Audience with Aggers - Beyond the Boundary." It was such a good evening, I could've listened to him speak all night.

I've been back out on rails for the first time in a while. @EastMidRailway have taken me from Swinderby to Matlock. It's taking some getting used to seeing trains at Matlock say "Lincoln" on them, but it's great that I can now go direct without having to change at Nottingham.

ScotRail is replacing its High Speed Trains with 22 Class 222 units with the first entering service in late 2027. The final HST should leave in December 2028. Alstom will refurbish the units before service.

Not very often that a 20 is seen leading bonnet first on the mainline. 20205 and 20007 approach Derby from Chaddesden Sidings with 220028 in tow on 7D26 Derby Litchurch Lane to Barton Under Needwood RSMD. (18/03/26)

86259 'Les Ross' arrives into Peterborough leading "The Whitby Flyer" 1Z50 London King's Cross to Whitby. A steam locomotive then takes over from the 86 at York to haul the train onwards for the rest of its journey. (18/03/26)
