if you have the Orchestrion plugin, add this as a replacement for Living Memory. Promise of Tomorrow is that nice bgm that plays in that one 7.3 MSQ cutscene. It works so well with the new vibe in the zone!

@Common_mon I would say PLD and BLM were quite different issues. But I do agree this boring version of Paladin is a result of people complaining about its damage, which sucks. Making your filler 1-1-1 to free up buttons to do more interesting things would be great (if they actually do that)

@ApolloClaye @WiseSwordFish46 @notorious__vex @FateFalse I think the last aspect is a community driven issue though, and it’s on us to stop misery posting just because PLD is on the bottom of the totem pole, because when people malded, the PLD rework sanded down most of the edges that PLD mains really liked. Same can be said about BLM.

@SpoopyScopy @moonmin_03 Yeah, the Warrior of Light taking his win away from him was such a bad narrative choice. Ranjit could've just died during this fight in Amh Araeng, the fight in Eulmore wasn't interesting or exciting enough to be worth keeping him alive for another rematch.

@moonmin_03 Thancred shouldn't have died that much its true. But I will never forgive them for making us fight Ranjiit during the Eulmore Attack instead of Thancred and Ryne especially after their character development.

My ultra spicy take is Thancred *shouldn't* have died here. At its core, Shadowbringers is about grief, and Thancred giving Ryne her name was the moment it turned into growing past grief, something Emet-Selch was unable to do. Killing Thancred would've just continued the cycle.

@GHUIBULL @Lunay678 They specifically aimed their foresight slash towards Velkhana so they would position their special sheathe close to the head so they could connect the spirit iai cleanly on the breathe attack And intentionally using helmbreaker to jump over attacks isn't "a happy accident"

@envinyon Like in M12S P2: on the 2m burst during Replication 2, with all effects on it is just impossible to see which way the boss is facing for his snaking kick. Especially because the boss model is so small. I have to limit effects or rely on callouts. It sucks

@envinyon Yeah, I've always played with all effects on and other than Summoner's Ifrit/Titan flashbangs, Lv90 jobs never fully blinded me the way all the new DT VFX do. Star Prism, Sun Sign, Psyche, Star Cross+Rise of the Dragon, Dance of the Dawn, Primal Ruination. It's all too much!!

Something about "job design" that bugs me that I don't think people talk about much is the visual effect creep that's been happening animations are getting bigger and flashier, and frankly nothing turns me off on a job more than doing my burst and I genuinely can't see the boss

@FasAnX1 DF2 is an i13 mid that CH launches, I guess you have the mild upside that maybe they stand block then don't break but I don't put too much value in that possibility. It's not homing with heat active. I think overall it's a good power level for a new move. Not useless, not OP

@PunPunch_ Ofc it's a good CH option, bc it's still a 14f move that launches (don't know if it's homing in Heat. This is pretty damn good in T8s environment (obv. it still can be broken, but it is insanely hard to do so on CH). Furthermore, it also serves as an "anti-air" combo float

It's been 3 weeks. I find it hilarious that every single King main I've fought and spectated has not used this throw once. People seriously overreacted to the existence of this move. Did he really need a launching throw? Not necessarily, but its non-use should tell you something.

Let me diffuse the situation. -It's a 1 break -It's i14 so it will only work on power crushes that are -14 -The throw itself does a whopping 8 damage, and last I recall, the most (or at least easiest followup for) damage he can get is blue spark iSW, which is 57 damage total

@FasAnX1 While it's strong as a punish on armour moves, I feel like even this far into the game's lifespan, people don't consistently use throws to punish properly like that. It's not particularly good as a CH option though unless you're specifically worried about them doing a PC

@RyuHousen It's still great as a frame-trap CH option (shortened break window), as it serves as a quasi CH launcher & more importantly, most mid pc moves are still -14 oB, so he gained a launching option, which shouldn't be granted to that archetype of char (making the MU more unbalanced)

Genuine question from someone that didn't play pre-Tekken 7, why do people like the old oki systems compared to what is in T8? It seems like canned mix that heavily favors the attacker which is what people say they don't like in T8.

@Jesandy1572 The oki changes singlehandedly made King a very boring character. A huge part of the character's depth was just gone overnight. Also it feels like you just want them to remove Jaguar Sprint haha. Which isn't an unreasonable stance, but 3,2,2 is the problem not JGR itself imo

On the whole "TNS online killed locals" topic and offline vs. online discussion, one thing Tong touches on in the podcast is how Tampa Never Sleeps Online is a major loss leader for the company. To run online events at the scale and quality TNS does, they take on: - 8 full time employees - All commentators/TO's/staff paid for their time - Infrastructure costs TNS is losing money on nearly every online event they run, while employing people within the FGC and giving a platform for the players and smaller game communities. The tradeoff is the service to the community and awareness of the brand the online tournaments provide, which helps them land and work offline events to pay the bills. These offline events become the hubs people gather at. It's not offline vs. online, it's one community.
