following VA and new TN/FL maps, 211 at least Leans R, 208 at least Leans D, 16 Toss-ups. I do think it's reasonable to think Ds will win the bulk of the Toss-ups, though, and quite possibly more beyond that.

The worst thing about this race to the bottom in redistricting is that it won't matter. Democrats are overwhelming favorites to flip the House in any case. Republicans in the South are just eroding democracy for the sake of it.

you can add Florida here too but the VA situation is likely closer to resolution. And the FL Supreme Court seems allied to Rs in a way that the VA Supreme Court isn't allied to Ds

For all of the Callais machinations (and they are both fast-moving & really important), the single-biggest remaining unknown about the race for the House is what the VA Supreme Court does. If that map is rolled back, the R improvement on the overall House map is more substantial

I want to visit small towns out of reach of even the most expansive proposed public transit systems.
Essentially, I want freedom.

These “urbanist” gestures Trump is doing in DC, like ballroom, arch and blue pool, are because he understands the longterm power of altering the fabric of built symbolism in the landscape. Liberals did a great deal of this sort of thing in the 60s (modernist museums on the mall; the style of substance of the DC subway)—but got lazy on this front after 2000, and Trump is making use of that vacuum.
