Horrendous experience of passengers on board @flysrilankan from Delhi to Colombo flight number UL 196 . Reported engine failure before take off, passengers are kept inside the aircraft without an AC for almost two hours. Worse , zero communication from the airline. Many pax want to cancel, airline not allowing them and being rude and difficult. What do they do @DGCAIndia @RamMNK ?

I noticed a change in my area in Kolkata... There is a club in Muslim majority Basti... Just a week before Bakr Eid there used to be 4-5 Cows tied... And the very next day of Eid.. None was seen.. The reason i knew why... I was helpless.. Many times I cried and had to look on other side while travelling in Auto... But it has been a week.. No cow is seen this time... I did not to go to the Supreme Court today to hear its order in the SIR case. As a litigant in this case, and as someone who was given the honour of addressing the court, I should have been hopeful, anxious, or at least curious. I was not. The case was decided long ago. We were only waiting for the transcript and its fine print. The course of this case was settled in August last year. Having heard arguments against SIR for three days, the court moved away from examining the constitutionality of SIR and effectively converted itself into a Consumer Forum, focused on grievance redressal and arbitration, rather than constitutional principles. The case was effectively decided when the apex court allowed the ECI to rush through the Bihar elections without first deciding the matter, and without requiring the ECI to rectify even the most glaring defects in post-SIR rolls. There was little left of this case once the ECI proceeded with the second and then the third phase of SIR, while the Hon’ble Court leisurely heard arguments about its constitutionality. SIR had become a fait accompli. Any remaining doubt disappeared when the Hon’ble judges observed in open court that no one would be allowed to obstruct SIR. The final nail in the coffin of this petition was hammered during the hearing of another petition before the same Bench, when an Hon’ble judge remarked that millions denied their right to vote need not fret, since they could vote in the next election. At that moment, the court abdicated its constitutional responsibility. Shorn of legalese, the simple truth is that the highest court of a constitutional democracy has already authorised the disenfranchisement of millions of citizens — at least 59 million so far, could go up eventually to 100 million. It was inconceivable that the court would now declare SIR unconstitutional and annul all post-SIR elections. The lawyers were waiting for the the exact legal reasoning deployed to arrive at a conclusion that was already known. Such legal gymnastics did not interest me. Some friends were looking for some crumbs in the hope that the court might at least wish to save face, if not save the voters. Eventually that too did not happen. Polite noises apart, the Court has handed over a carteblac to the ECI to do what it pleases with the voters list. ADR vs Union of India (2026) is to our times what ADM Jabalpur vs Shivkant Shukla (1976) was to the previous assault on our democracy. We must hope that the SIR judgment does not mark the crumbling of the last constitutional wall, as ADM Jabalpur once did. We must believe that one day this constitutional abdication by the guardian of the Constitution will be recognised for what it was. And reversed. Jai Hind!

Mr @Dev_Fadnavis @CMOMaharashtra has completely failed in maintaining equal law and order in Maharashtra. What kind of discrimination is this? One set of rules for Hindus and another for Muslims? Dogs are allowed inside societies, but a goat brought home for Eid-ul-Adha to be cared for till Qurbani day as part of religious practice suddenly becomes a problem? The sacrifice isn’t even happening inside the society. Eid is on the 28th, and the animal is legally taken later to designated slaughterhouses. So what exactly is the issue here? This is their tradition n religious practice which say they have to be with at most compassion and care towards the animal before Qurbani. Many Muslim families keep and care for the animal before Eid as part of the tradition and emotional responsibility attached to the ritual. Why is this being criminalised only when common Muslims do it? And I want to ask leaders like @ShahnawazBJP @ShaziaIlmi @AsifBamla @warispathan @RubikaLiyaquat don’t you all Muslim families across India follow these traditions? If they do, then why this silence when ordinary Muslims are targeted and humiliated? Why this double standard? Why are elite Muslims treated differently while common Muslims face harassment and discrimination? India’s Constitution articles 25 gives every citizen the right to practice their religion peacefully. Selective outrage and selective rules will only divide society further. Shame on this hypocrisy. And that’s where the alleged ‘TTE Game’ begins where some Ticket Examiners have been accused of reselling confirmed berths to other travelers in exchange for bribes. An ordinary passenger books tickets months in advance struggles for Tatkal bookings for hours but some people allegedly get berths with cash after the train starts moving. Everyone knows this game exists. Passengers know it. Railway staff know it. Yet every time, the blame is shifted to the "system." The saddest part ? The ticket may belong to you but sometimes the seat does not. Has corruption become the new normal in Indian Railways ?

On the revered and celebratory occasion of Eid , Muslims of Kashmir are greeted with barricades, restrictions, locked gates and intimidation. This is not governance; it is a systematic assault on our religious identity, dignity and fundamental rights which deeply hurts us. It is very unfortunate that children in Kashmir are growing up without witnessing the spiritually uplifting Eid prayers at Eidgah and the festivities thereof. An entire generation is being deprived of knowing their traditions and making memories that have shaped our collective life for centuries. But let those in power know that no power on earth can erase the deep spiritual bond people of Kashmir share with Eidgah, Jama Masjid and their religious institutions. Faith cannot be imprisoned or suppressed through force.
