Can I be 100% fully honest with you. People are accusing me of being classist about the Los Angeles subway. They are absolutely correct. There are two LA's. It's not rich or poor. It's Film Production vs Everyone Else. When you work in film production, YOU MUST OWN A CAR. A production assistant without a car is not going to make it. Too many pick ups and drop offs. A car is critical to getting to the weird locations at odd times. If you don't have a car, you're not going to work. Film review people are NOT production people so yes they can take subways to whatever mysterious day jobs they have. I ONLY know film production people in LA. That's been my life for 30 years. I am absolutely in a bubble. I don't go anywhere in LA unless it's a meeting or a shoot. To me, Los Angeles is Hollywood. But even if I didn't work in film, I still wouldn't take the subway because Asian people riding in American subways is a good way of getting dead.

I just voted yes to approve the new K-Line North Metro Line. If you live in West Hollywood and work in Century City, there will be a train for you. If you are a nurse in South Los Angeles commuting to Cedars-Sinai for work, or want to go to the Hollywood Bowl for a show, there will be a train for you. If you want to go see the Kehinde Wiley sculpture coming to Destination Crenshaw and then go to the new David Geffin Galleries at LACMA, there will be a train for you. And if you want to live near that train, there should also be housing that is actually affordable for you. That is the kind of Los Angeles I believe in, and that is the Los Angeles we are building.

When it comes to Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show, everyone wants to sound so woke and claim "I love all music!" I was at a big Super Bowl party and watched the Spanish-speaking people go crazy over the songs, while everyone else sat there in silence because they not only didn't know any of the songs but also had no idea what the lyrics were saying. Bad Bunny is a lyricist, so you can't say it's just a vibe, and the language doesn't matter. And many of the people at the party were professional musicians.
