@HouseJudiciary I think they are just following the practice when schools don’t let parents attend meetings when they discuss their child’s gender identification.

Republicans voted to strip the right of unaccompanied kids to have a lawyer represent them in immigration court. We're talking about kids who are as young as 18 months old who will now be left to fend for themselves in front of the government.

@adamscochran Fun fact: we have been told consistently, almost as if it were a talking point, that this never happens. That it was another conspiracy theory just like the origin of Covid and the censoring of social media. Now watch the goal posts being moved: rarely happens, not a concern..

Fun fact: Nothing in the SAVE Act would have prevented this error from registering people. However, this error was caught by the ballot review system that is already in place. We know about the issue *because* our elections *are* secure.
JD Vance@JDVance

If only there was a way to stop this type of “software error” that allowed non citizens to vote in our elections. I hope Senators @CoryBooker and @SenatorAndyKim will join us in voting to pass the SAVE America Act to ensure that only eligible American voters can participate in New Jersey elections, and all elections across the United States.

@TheJourneyGenie @FromTeachrsDesk Most professionals are not paid that way. Every firm I worked for pays based on a perf evaluation. Every major corp pays their professionals that way. Only union shops pay based on yrs without regard to performance. I guess i understand the resistance.

Your children may be taught by people with zero teaching experience. Rather than improving working conditions or paying teachers more, districts have lowered the standards to become an educator. This is why our education system is broken.

@TheJourneyGenie @FromTeachrsDesk I am saying that their boss would observe their work, and also use other data to aid in assessing their performance. Blindly allocating salary based on yrs of service doesn’t incent better performance. And by performance I mean job performance.

@RAFisher21 @FromTeachrsDesk That’s a huge sliding scale you’re suggesting, which is also a huge workload for the AOs. It’s untenable. Also, teaching is a PROFESSION, not some two bit job where your pay is based on how many widgets you produce. Talk about out of touch.

@TheJourneyGenie @FromTeachrsDesk So AO’s would have to perform job duties like every manager in non union shops do as it relates to managing employees? Thats untenable? This is how every non union company rates salary employee performance. This isn’t radical! In your mind tenure alone is the salary factor?

@TheJourneyGenie @FromTeachrsDesk So your Principal can’t observe you and make that determination by analyzing as a collective: your performance, scores, improvement of the students ? The pay system that only rewards years of service does not incent those to be better teachers or attract better candidates

@RAFisher21 @FromTeachrsDesk Performance of teachers is NOT dependent on the performance of students. Some years, I’ve had mostly high kids who are engaged learners and exceed expectations. Some years, I’ve had several with IEPs and undiagnosed learning issues; unsurprisingly their scores are lower.

Well over a dozen elections in New Jersey have been decided by tiny margins since 2023. Some by only a few votes. With this admission of nearly 400 voting in this sample of 6,600 illegals, it’s possible that illegal immigrants decided those elections.
Governor Mikie Sherrill@GovSherrillNJ

Last week I learned that a serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System led to the registration of roughly 6,600 people who indicated that they were not U.S. citizens between June 2023 and June 2024, almost three years prior to my taking office. These individuals answered "no" when asked on a keypad whether they were a U.S. citizen when applying for drivers' licenses and identification cards, but through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway. This happened under the previous administration and, upon learning this information, I immediately ordered my chief counsel to launch an investigation to get to the bottom of what occurred. I also ordered the removal of any residents from our voter rolls who were erroneously added between June 2023 and June 2024. The new MVC Administrator that I appointed has begun the process of replacing the vendor responsible for administering the system. Our preliminary analysis shows fewer than 400 individuals who were newly registered for the first time because of the error voted. They were registered as Democrats, Republicans and Unaffiliated voters and were scattered across the state. I want to underscore how seriously I take this matter. As a military veteran who swore an oath to defend our Constitution, and as a former federal prosecutor, I believe the integrity of our elections is fundamental to our democracy. I am appalled by the reckless failures that allowed this to happen and the lack of transparency shown by those in charge at the time. This failure didn’t occur under my watch, but accountability starts now. I am taking action to prevent anything like it from occurring in the future and make sure those responsible are held accountable. As the Trump Administration tries to weaponize elections for political gain, I am ensuring we protect our elections. Let me be clear: Donald Trump has zero credibility on the issue of election integrity. For more than ten years, he has worked to undermine Americans' faith in our elections by spreading lies about legitimate election results, attempting to overturn a free and fair election, encouraging an attack on our Capitol when he couldn't accept the will of the voters, and defunding election security at the federal level. The difference is simple: when we find a problem, we don't hide it, deny it, or invent conspiracies. We investigate it, we fix it, and we tell the public. That's what accountability and good governance look like, and that's exactly what my administration is doing. New Jerseyans should have confidence that every eligible citizen can vote, every lawful vote will be counted, and every reasonable step will be taken to protect the integrity of our elections. That's my responsibility, and it's one I will never stop fighting to uphold.

More than one thing can be true at once: 1. NJ MVC sucks, disenfranchises voters, and mistakenly registered 6k voters 2. Trump has lied that there are 35k illegal registrants 3. 400 people illegally voted (out of millions) 4. Trump has lied that there is massive voter fraud

The U.S. Department of Justice has opened a federal probe into New Jersey’s voter registration software failure today, saying it will use the disclosure as “an additional basis” to demand the state’s unredacted voter rolls, including sensitive data. In a letter to New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill, @AAGDhillon gave the state five business days to provide extensive personal information about roughly 6,600 people who were improperly registered after telling the Motor Vehicle Commission they were not U.S. citizens.
Shlomo Schorr@OneJerseySchorr

Speaking at the Statehouse in Trenton, New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill announced today that thousands of non-citizens were accidentally registered to vote in the state due to software error at the state Motor Vehicles Commission. According to Sherrill, “fewer than 400” of those voters cast ballots in various elections since 2023. The announcement follows a Department of Homeland Security announcement that claimed more than 35,000 non-citizens were on the state voting rolls.

I genuinely think the standard workday should be 10 a.m.–3 p.m. or 9 a.m.–2 p.m. There’s no reason people should spend the majority of their lives at work. Let people get home with enough time to be with their families, partners, and friends, pursue hobbies, and actually rest. A lot of today’s burnout and unhappiness comes from the fact that work consumes almost all of our waking hours.

Welp. Not great. 6,000 noncitizens accidentally added to voter rolls. They didn't try to be registered, but motor vehicle commission automatically registered them even though they checked "non-citizen" when getting a license. "Fewer than 400" voted in a past election. New Jersey has about 6.68 million registered voters. politico.com/news/2026/07/2…

@baseballot But it blows a hole in the biggest go-to line in the D playbook: the voter rolls are fine, illegals aren’t registered and they don’t vote. That is why the rolls need to be audited in a bipartisan way. When R’s say that the response is always the same…it doesn’t occur……..oops
