Often times, everyone overlooks some of the prettiest species due to being common but I’m always looking to showcase the beauty hidden in the common everyday things. ON THE LEFT: The Rock Pigeon has an array of beautiful iridescent colors hidden on its chin and neck - with just the right light … those colors shine bright. ON THE RIGHT: This beautifully subtle bird is known as the Eurasian Collared- Dove, slightly smaller than the Rock Pigeon. It has a beady Red eye that really pops in the direct sunlight. #TwitterNatureCommunity #BirdsOfTwitter

Where I live we have a healthy population of Common Buzzards. Here I managed to catch its wings up just before it took flight

🚨BREAKING: There is NO water in The Rio Grande?! I’m standing here in New Mexico and the river is completely DRY. Nearby AI data centers are consuming massive amounts of water to keep their systems cool. Meta’s Los Lunas facility alone has reportedly been tied to roughly 75 million gallons of water usage per year connected to Rio Grande resources and it’s only ONE of many projects expanding across the state. People can argue over the exact numbers, but one thing is undeniable… these facilities require enormous amounts of water and there are more data centers across the country being built as we speak. This is starting to look like an environmental disaster in plain sight. We need to put pressure on local representatives and the President to examine this environmental crisis before it’s too late.

An ecologist says it will take 20 to 30 years for a stretch of River Lugg in Herefordshire to recover after being damaged by a local farmer. Read more: bbc.in/4wPtc09

The word Falcon conjures images of a sleek and fast bird of prey. The latin ‘Falco’ refers to ‘sickle shaped’ and Falcons in flight have sickle shaped wings. Evolved as supreme hunters, all Falcons are amazing and beautiful. Rajasthan remains one of those places where in winter, Falcons are sighted regularly. So it is in Gujarat. The Kestrel is most common while birders long for a glimpse of the Saker. The Peregrine Falcon is a celebrated species, known for speed and dexterity. The Merlin and Hobby are much smaller, but are no mean slouches either. Among our resident species is the fairy like Red-necked Falcon, best seen in the desert and its edges. 1. Often said the further West you go, Female Common Blues are almost entirely Blue, whereas South and East They're almost entirely Brown. So a visit to Jones's Mill, the Vera Jeans Reserve Pewsey this week is mid Range. Lovely Violet-Blue tints too @savebutterflies @s4r4h_l

@paulrpotts I planted ridiculous amounts of garlic after I noticed how great they are when fermented! Fermented garlic tastes less sharp, so you can eat lots without developing an ulcer 😂
