Some additional thoughts: - Would expect contracts with term offered to Murphy and Dickenson (to keep AAV low) - They will try to to move Nurse (in summer) & replace internally or free agency for 3LD money - Leaves enough cap space for big game hunting (Robertson, Schmaltz, Tuch)

Interesting additional info surfaced yesterday: Skinner and Kulak: both on expiring contracts were likely not being resigned by Oilers at end of year. May not sign with Penguins so add a 2nd round pick to get it done. Jarry was on waivers last year but Oilers needed to free Cap space. So Tristan Jarry. 5.375M / Stuart Skinner. 2.6M.+ Brett Kulak. 2.75M. Oilers management lost faith when Skinner got pulled in the SCF losing the net multiple times during the run (and previous year). Pickard going 8-2 suggested it wasn’t just Defence. Oilers are still showing up in Goalie rumours (Lyon) so seem to want a good Tandem for a deep run. Jarry’s strengths are on shots from the slot and HDC which match the run and gun game Oilers used to play last year and he plays the puck well. He has struggled with pressure in Big games (2021 playoffs) but has won championships before entering the NHL so it seems mental. Message to McDavid was compete for next 3 years. Have to honour that. Oilers have scouted and had an eye on Jarry for 3-4 years so no his game well. Jarry meets the team in Toronto and will start tonight.
