@tomhfh Ultimately this is what will bring Keir down rather than English councils.

Welsh Labour expect to be reduced to a group of around 10 MSs, out of 96.

@TacitusChrono @historyinmemes This is a Gen Z phenomena who have been brainwashed into viewing any age gap as a dangerous power dynamic. They fail to see nuance and context. Everything has become black and white. If a couple has love, respect and shared values, their ages are irrelevant.

If the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana were taking place today, Charles III would have been born in 1995, while Diana, Princess of Wales would have been born in 2007.

@kufrekoffi @historyinmemes 2) Diana and Charles failed because he loved another woman (of his own age) but was forced To marry Diana under pressure from the Queen Mother.

@kufrekoffi @historyinmemes You know what’s actually dangerous? This moralistic disgust with age gaps by people who have zero idea of the couple. I know a married couple with a 13-year gap who have shared values, interests, and emotional maturity. This Gen Z desire to label it abusive is demeaning

Counterpoint: it was a stupid question, in fact it was a drab insult badly disguised as a question, the kind of smug, asinine, lazy crap you get from BBCQT audience members who are cosplaying Jeremy Paxman, and the responses it got were far better than it deserved.
Kate McCann@KateEMcCann

I asked Robert, who asked 'is there nobody better than you two' what he thought of Starmer and Sunak's response: "They didn't answer the Q! How annoying is it, you ask a direct question and they don't answer... you could give them a right good go, it's just so infuriating!"

@tomhfh @cjsnowdon People are dumber. I see and hear it all the time - poorer understanding of political/economic basics, confusion with and misuse of terminology. People just don’t seem intellectually curious enough to inform themselves. It’s incredibly frustrating.

When inflation was high in the 1990s, the BBC did not feel the need to constantly explain that falling inflation did not mean falling prices. But then we weren't an idiocracy in those days. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@DKPreedy @edwinhayward @BestForBritain Definitely. Same in Weybridge - they’re recommending Labour when this entire area is self-evidently a Con-Lib fight. Hopefully enough people understand what to do for an orange wave in Surrey 🙏

There have been quite a few criticisms of @bestforbritain and the tactical voting guide they launched today, not least from me. (Long tweet out of necessity. Sorry.) Their attitude towards the SNP feels particularly problematic (see screenshot below) and they have recommended Labour over the SNP in almost all Labour/SNP two-way contests. They have also made a few recommendations in England that, to my casual eye, look to favour Labour over the LibDems more than they should. Over the years, they have taken £1,438,500 in donations from just 11 donors, and a further £136,831.60 from smaller donors in transactions too small to be recorded individually. If you want to find out more about who funds the organisation, you can download a list of donors from the Electoral Commission at the link below: search.electoralcommission.org.uk/Search/Donatio… It is worth noting that they have in turn donated £229,922.29 total over a number of installments to Hilary Benn, as well as £2,000 to the Green Party, and £2,000 to Peter Kyle. You can see those donations in the transaction list at the link below: search.electoralcommission.org.uk/Search/Donatio… Anyway, I will leave it up to others if you want to look into the background of Best for Britain. I am merely providing information to help kickstart your investigation, should you be so inclined.

@Beyond_Topline Do we have similar evidence yet re the number of Labour voters who are indicating they would Lib Dem where needed? I live in Weybridge and am praying the LDs can get the Labour vote down sufficiently 🙏

@LukeTryl Runnymede & Weybridge - one of the wealthiest constituencies outside of London but the Conservative vote collapsing, as with Hunt’s neighbouring seat and Esher & Walton/Surrey Heath. Lib Dem signs everywhere you go.

Bit of crowd sourcing! We’re putting together final focus group locations for the last few weeks. If we had an extra slot where do would be especially worth talking to people and give an interesting insight into how people are engaged with the election and politics?

@RishiSunak For a supposedly patriotic party, the fact you chose to spell defence as ‘defense’ is laughable. You can use American grammar when you move to California next month :)

@minaonthedl No, even if this were true they couldn’t inherit the throne as they would be illegitimate (‘bastard’) children. Under British law the heir must be legitimate. This has been the case for hundreds of years. Maybe you should learn some British history before you write this trash.

annie 🍷@emiliascillian

Is this why the daughter hasn’t been seen in public and wasn’t in the coronation like Rose’s sons were? Bc those boys were up next to William and Kate’s kids on that balcony as if they were part of the family 😭💀

@moorehn @turbogrrl They could not ‘absolutely’ inherit the throne. You evidently don’t know the rudiments of UK constitutional law. The heir to the throne has to be legitimate - no illegitimate heir has acceded to the British throne since the Glorious Revolution of 1688 or Act of Settlement (1701).
