When ChatGPT first launched, there was an enormous gender gap, with our anonymized data showing roughly 80% having typically male first names. That gap is now gone.

@ZyMazza I had GPT Mythos port this into lean and can confirm the proof is valid. 🫡

After multiple days of many hour long sessions with GPT 5.4 and Claude Opus 4.6 (thinking and extended respectively) I can confidently say I have SOLVED the hard problem of consciousness. You might think that I'm suffering from LLM psychosis, but all of my code is public and you can see it for yourself. Chat GPT 5.4 after 9 hours of extended thinking in pro mode could not find a single flaw anywhere. I have just collapsed thousands of years of futile philosophical debate into an elegant solution in one of today's leading programming languages, hailed for its compatibility with LLM driven research. We are expanding the frontier of knowledge!

@number_pizza111 My favorite feature of Windows is how the "help" menu option in the File Explorer just opens a Bing search results page for "get help with file explorer in windows", where the box at the top of the page explains how to open File Explorer.

It’s crazy how search tools have universally stopped functioning over the past decade. Google sucks, Bing sucks, and don’t get me started on Windows Explorer.

@simonradner I remember getting really stumped in this game because I interpreted the Red Herring as a gag meant to be ignored, and completely forgot about it for later. In retrospect, it feels a bit like I prompt injected myself.

@justalexoki I had to teach the robot that most git commands it wants to run can be run from any subdirectory of the repo root and they'll work just fine.

Will AI ever be able to say, genuinely, "I don't know"? Because, to me, that is the ultimate proof of intelligence. (It's a philosophical question)

@itaisher It's specifically the set of mathematical primitives used in the Wolfram Language. Which is still really cool! But he even says in the paper it's primarily of interest for pedagogical purposes.

This Polish theoretical physicist just proved you can recreate all math functions from JUST one operation. E(a, b) = e^a - ln(b) Every single operation: +, -, x, / , trig, log, as you can see below. Extremely mathematically elegant.

@GarrettPetersen The fundamental problem is that Elsa is a deeply, deeply evil person, even in the final movie. But they accidentally made her villain song too catchy and had to do a last-minute rewrite to hide the evil particles under a different rug.

@shakoistsLog Being able to struggle over something like this builds the psyche rather well. This is one of the greatest things we risk loosing relying on the simulacrum of intelligence, losing our own. People are already reporting not remembering their coding solutions from mere weeks ago.

on the first day, of my first real job, circa 2014, my boss gave me this. he said solve it, if i can. i had only taken single variable business calc. i spent 14 months living as a monk, coming home every day after work, and all day on the weekends, studying math and trying to reverse engineer this. multi-var calc, ODEs, linear algebra. each taking me slightly closer to reverse engineering these esoteric symbols. eventually i got it. maybe with a few hints along the way. it still makes me wistful looking at that ODE. a very nostalgic series of affine equations.

@StevenVanDyke @eigenrobot My toddler had a phase where he would just walk up to me and demand "What else is bad?" "Pulling hair is bad." "What else is bad?" "Throwing hard things is bad." "What else is bad?" [10 minutes later] "Uh... tax fraud? Tax fraud is bad." "What else is bad?"
