Her name is Rohini Sindhuri.
She is a 2009 batch IAS officer posted in Karnataka.
In 2018, she was the District Collector of Hassan. She discovered illegal sand mining happening every night from the rivers in her district. She stopped it.
Local politicians were furious. They went to the Chief Minister.
Within days, she was transferred out of Hassan.
She fought it in the Karnataka High Court. The court ruled her transfer was illegal and ordered the government to reinstate her.
The government reinstated her.
Then transferred her again.
She went back to court. She kept going back to court every single time the system tried to silence her.
Between 2018 and 2023, she was transferred seven times. Each transfer came within weeks of her exposing something.
She never stopped working. She never stopped filing cases. She never stopped showing up.
India has a system where honesty is punished with transfers. Rohini Sindhuri refused to accept that as her final answer.
She is still in service today.
Follow for real stories about people who refused to quit.

@Ashuthoshmg @yaduveerwadiyar UOM is an unowrthy and accidental owner of JVM ! A decade back IHCN who restored the Professors Bungallow of UOM later made the same place as its HO by signing an MOU with UOM. Why this hullabaloo Now ?

Maintenance should happen with accountability, not by handing over heritage to private entities.
University of Mysore must safeguard heritage not shift responsibility.
Protect, restore but don’t privatize our legacy.

@Ashuthoshmg @yaduveerwadiyar It is very unfortunate! It is because we don’t have a heritage law to protect such properties ! It is not clear from the article who sold it and to whom ? At the same time MNK was only an acting Dewan but a highly respected administrator !

Heritage buildings are memories of our culture, identity, and history. Once destroyed, they can never be recreated.

@AshwiniMS_TNIE @nimmasuresh @NewIndianXpress He is right! It is a matter of shame these so called representatives of people are demanding a free VVIP treatment for a cricketing circus show ! These IPL franchise owners who pay billions to purchase should be asked have their venues elsewhere instead of creating nuisance!

“We are VIPs, We Cannot Stand in Queues: KSCA Should Give 5 Tickets to Each MLA and Minister of Karnataka,” says Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar
Bengaluru
Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar has strongly criticized the Karnataka State Cricket Association (#KSCA) for denying tickets to legislators and ministers for the upcoming Indian Premier League (#IPL) matches starting March 28.
Speaking to reporters, Kashappanavar said that despite availing government facilities such as security, KSCA has failed to show respect to elected representatives. “They are not issuing tickets to MLAs, ministers, or their families. Instead, they are asking people to book online. We all know how online booking works,it leads to black marketing. Tickets worth ₹5,000 are being sold for ₹35,000,” he alleged.
The MLA demanded that at least five tickets be allotted to each legislator along with separate seating arrangements. “We are VIPs; we cannot stand in queues. Last time, we were made to sit in the general gallery with the public. This should not happen again,” he said, adding that the issue has been raised in the Assembly and taken up with the Speaker.
Kashappanavar further revealed that the Deputy Chief Minister has assured legislators of resolving the matter by arranging tickets and ensuring proper seating.
On the Home Minister’s meeting with KSCA, Kashappanavar dismissed claims of effective guidelines being issued. “There are no proper guidelines. KSCA has become too powerful because IPL matches are happening. They are collecting money and enjoying it. If this continues, we will fight against it,” he warned.

Super Premium Frequent Flier PM is in Ghana today.
Till the mid-60s, Ghanaian and indeed African politics was dominated by Kwame Nkrumah, who is an iconic figure. He shared a very warm relationship with Jawaharlal Nehru, which long pre-dated Ghana's independence in March 1957.
A prominent road in Accra on which India House is located is named after Nehru, while the diplomatic enclave in New Delhi has a Kwame Nkrumah Marg.
Nkrumah's visited India from Dec 22, 1958 to Jan 8, 1959. He was in New Delhi, Mumbai, Nangal, Chandigarh, Jhansi, Agra, Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Pune. He spent five days in Bengaluru and Mysuru alone. He paid special visits to the Trombay Atomic Energy Establishment, the National Physical Laboratory, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, the Bhakra Nangal Dam, and the National Defence Academy. One offshoot of this extended visit was Indian assistance for the establishment of the Ghanaian Air Force.
A few years earlier, Nehru had inaugurated the Department of African Studies at Delhi University before the decolonisation of the continent had begun. Speaking on the occasion on Aug 5, 1955 he had said: "it is so obviously necessary and desirable for people in India to study Africa, and not merely, as the Vice Chancellor said, because it is there...But you ignore the study of Africa at your peril....It is of the most urgent importance for us to understand Africa...and her problems and her people more particularly... When I think of Africa, many ideas come to me...I have a tremendous feeling of atonement of humanity...the way Africa and the people of Africa have been treated for hundreds of years, a kind of feeling that the rest of humanity would perform prayashchit for it...."

I am travelling from Vizag to Hyderabad in Vande Bharat train.
One guy got in fight with the catering services for not serving Non Vegetarian Food. He said that non veg is his default, only for the catering service guy asking him to confirm it on his ticket.
His ticket said Veg
Apparently if you book the Vande Bharat train at the last moment Tatkal, they can only serve you vegetarian food.
@IRCTCofficial can we not fix this ? Most Indians are non vegetarians, if they book tickets at the last moment, they should get food of their preference
