Anyone with this line of thinking is going to be very disappointed.
Ferguson won in spite of the Glazers. City win because of their owners, that has been proven across several managers.
Is Pep a good manager? Of course, but give anyone half decent a blank cheque & they'll win.

But a survey is a survey, as you say. People do seem very exercised about the results.

That said, you absolutely will get fund managers in the press complaining when govts do stuff that hurts their portfolios. They want stability, and ideally falling rates (so bond prices rise), and will say so. But they can't do much to force it beyond that public persuasion.

People anthropomorphise bond markets in a way that's quite funny. Forget the image of shouting traders, it's largely a bunch of quiet nerds with excel sheets pricing in expected inflation, with a bit of leeway for uncertainty.
