Mt.Kilimanjaro Day Dash - Mweka Route (43.31Km & 4431M Elevation Gain) [20-03-26] There was a bit of discomfort going into this hike due to the heavy Rains. However, the mountain and I got a love story going on, and yesterday she went over and above for me, (can’t say the same for the others) 😅, controlling the rains and keeping me warm. I had one of the warmest climbs to the summit and the pictures are testament to this. Imagine summiting Kilimanjaro without a jacket and gloves on! While I was having a good time up there, it was pouring like crazy below, and vice versa as I descended. After a 2 hour delay, we started our climb at 5:22am and I tried to push as much as possible. Due to the heavy rains, the trail was muddy and wet and the stairs on this route made it a tough exercise. By day break, I had covered a good section of the forested part, and the views on the way up were giving making for a good climb. The trail was very busy with hikers coming down after summiting. As I went up, the porters cheered me on and wished me well on my crazy attempt! It was a different and wholesome experience! I had sort of underestimated the summit push. Perhaps, due to the mountain not looking overbearing. Things got really tough from Barafu Camp probably because at this point, you are almost at 5000M ASL. I was moving, but I was not making much progress. Step after step, it was a struggle to get to Stella Point, and thereafter, the 1Km to the summit felt as if the summit had been moved further, a reminder never to underestimate any summit push! You should have seen the way my face and my whole body lit up when I saw the summit point. I ran to it like a lover coming back home from a long trip, to the hands of his lover who had been anxiously waiting for him. After 7 hours, I had made it to the summit and it was only fair that the mountain and I, have a moment, one that lasted over 20 minutes. Hiking down, the weather switched up a bit from Stella Point, but that was okay because the most important thing had been achieved! Things got slower than I had expected and the stairs were not friendly to my knees, which meant I had to take it easy since I had a half marathon coming up on Sunday! After 5 hours, I was back at the Mweka Gate, happy and satisfied with the day! What a hike!

In 2023 an agent warned me not to renew with this company. In her words, “Hii ni insurance ya Nduthi.” I protested kidogo coz they were cheaper than competition. A good agent will always give options with Ukweli yote

So Trident Insurance goes under receivership and not a single clear notice to clients? I only find out AFTER being arrested and fined for “no insurance.” This is gross negligence. Customers deserve proper communication, not punishment for your failure. Fix this mess. COMPENSATE

Unknown to many of you, before Mansa Plus, I was (feels weird saying I was, I still I’m) a musician. @raysmanifests was my music manager! We gave it our all! But guess what, it didn’t work out! Put in a lot of money, recording music, making videos, pushing the songs, but the result was next to zero. On my music YouTube Channel I have under 1400 subscribers! @willyskihumba has had his days as a musician and a Dj, but I will let him tell his story! To an outsider, that looks like failure, and for sure it is failure! However, it was that experience that we used to build Mansa Plus, or rather prepped us to handle what was coming. When we were busy begging people to subscribe and watch our content, it didn’t feel weird because we had been doing it throughout our music days. When we tried to work with certain people and they shut doors on us, we were in familiar territory. When we went months without pay but showed up everyday, that was the norm in our music days! When some people made fun of me and my accent, come on, we were already used to it! And when it came down to work, I was already used to being in front of the camera… I guess as Jay says, it’s not failure it’s a lesson. I’m very proud of what we are doing in this space, and I’m even more proud of every moment that has read us here! It really is in the journey and who you journey with. Luckily, I get to do this with two good friends who are super humans when it comes to their jobs! To all my friends, family and people that I don’t even know who watch our content, and buy our services, know that I’m super grateful. Thank you for making this moment possible! #MansaPlus to the World

Fathers don’t post 50 selfies with their kids every week. They just quietly renew the car insurance at 2 a.m. Skip their own doctor’s appointment so the school fees can be cleared, and still say I’m fine when you ask how work was. That’s the love no one talks about.

I have a contrary opinion and you may not like it. On the surface, this sounds like motivation. In reality, it’s a reckless gamble that often backfires. When I was starting out, a friend invited me to move into a 3 bed apartment in Banana Island so we could ‘stay motivated’. The rent was over N20million to split, plus N5million service charge. It made no financial sense, so I declined. He moved in with others. One year later, they couldn’t afford to renew and moved out. That same year, I bought my first house. Increasing expenses before income is a recipe for poverty. Successful people don’t rent expensive apartments to motivate themselves, they rent them because the money is already there. This doesn’t mean you can’t change your environment, just not to one that puts pressure on you. Financial pressure does not motivate you. Infact, it kills your creativity, narrows your thinking, and makes you desperate. And desperate people make bad decisions. The correct math is grow your income before you scale your lifestyle.
