@roger_badger Depends how they carry out the repair. To be fair, many won't do it out of fear.... I've done them for years.

@Re_carb Ah, no worries. Ended up getting s replacement in the end. Cheers anyway. Out of curiosity, I got a flat "no way", from another repair place. Something to do with the nature of the rolled carbon tube? You reckon that's rubbish then?

So with the good comes the bad...I also got the EXtreme-c today and on the surface it looked great. Then I found a crack in the lacquer under the seat lug on the B-Stay, so removed the top coat to have a look at why. Umm not good. Carbon is way to thin in that area 🤔

@raoul_luescher It's a bit like manufacturers and CFD. An X-ray is a much more 'showy' image 🤗

Set of forks back from being X-Ray tested after a head on collision. All good and certified to ride again!

@Re_carb Sorry to burst the bubble, but that image will not provide the information required to say that fork is safe to ride.

@Re_carb @Priceyt @BigDen209 Cheers dude. Frame is a 2014 Norco Sight 7.1.5. Have the surfaces well prepped, so based on advice given I'm pretty confident it will be an easy fix. I'll give you a shout if not though 👍

Some advice needed please... seat post collar, which was bonded into frame, has separated. What's the best product to use to repair? Collar and frame are both carbon. I've read somewhere that araldite is often used. #ukmtbchat #carbonexperts

@BitShredder @Priceyt @BigDen209 Main issue here would be surface prep prior to bonding. This is the main reason for this sort of issue. If you need help, I'm here.

@Priceyt @BigDen209 @Re_carb Not friction fit, spent ages sanding down the residue from where it was bonded. I believe the design is so the seat clamp was not direct to the frame. Email has been sent to norco, just waiting for a response 👍
