@RacingWhat Most is not all... Pregnant women, infants, the elderly and sick with heart, lung and kidney problems are particularly vulnerable to extreme temperatures and dehydration. These are the people who suffer most quickly under heat and water stress. The healthy majority should be ok

It only takes a few days of a HEATWAVE for everyone to suddenly realise that CLIMATE CHANGE represents a massive, all consuming threat. A few days later, the weather settles, they forget the fear they felt and go back to their old ways.

@Sports_Critique Those aren’t temperature colours - they show how much above or below normal. That’s why there’s still some blue (ie just normal). Doesn’t mean freezing. This weekend, temps could be 15-20°C above normal for May, which is very unusual. That’s why you see those colours.

@Tw_timerAlder Still, southern England is depicted as being cinder and ash, the north see as a lake of boiling lava! You seem the type that would take a burger for a bribe to take a jab with no long term safety data. Go you 👍🏻

@volcaholic1 Yes, because the hottest day of the year is always in June/july/august in Leeds 🤦‍♂️ It’s only a couple of years ago that 22 was the best we had all year. Go get you booster.

@RealDocEmil @P88044770 @TakeThatClouds Wrong. It’s 0.000003% and 11% if we include ice core records. Also, it’s about human civilisation, not the survival of the planet This is just more tired, old and weak climate denial nonsense

“We had proper hot summers back then”? Really? This photo looks like it is from the early 80s. In the whole of the 1980s, only TWO summers reached 32C (90F). Whereas EVERY SINGLE SUMMER of the 2010s and 2020s (up to 2025) has done so. Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be.

@SandyofSuffolk @WintersTale7846 I remember when it looked like this, and we had proper hot summers back then.

@RealDocEmil @gsh34d3r Something tells me that averaging out the temperature for the Earth's entire lifespan probably wouldn't be a particularly useful metric

Oh my god it’s May, it should not be this hot. It’s a colour scale going from minimum to maximum, within the bounds of the expected temperature for this time of year. These will be the same people who say geography is a useless subject

🌡️ Rare UK heatwave hits... and the BBC weather map goes full apocalypse mode again! Left: Old-school forecast, sunny, warm, normal British summer 🌞 Right: Everything's blood red, dramatic shading, panic activated 🫠 Different narrative. They really can't help themselves. 🙄 Enjoy the sunshine guys 😎

@RealDocEmil Fuck me, you can’t be serious. Yes, the Earth was warmer when dinosaurs were around but there were no people, farms, or cities. Nobody is claiming this is the hottest the Earth has ever been in its history.

@RealDocEmil We literally have some of the longest running temperature measurements in the world. They go back over 350 years

@P88044770 @TakeThatClouds Exactly. We’ve been recording temps for 0.000000037% of earths history. But yet they tell us that it’s the hottest day ever etc…. Technically we’re still in an ice age FFS 🤦‍♂️

@ali__samson Oi, fuckwit. The amount of immigrants coming in and claiming benefits has not lowered. What has is the number of skilled immigrants who work and pay uk tax. It’s not a win in any way. 🤦‍♂️ Glad to have cleared this up for you.

@FPLHarrybo You people will always find something to cry about. 350k coming in is still a massive shift from previous years where it was 700k-900k

It’s a pretty miserable experience travelling to Europe with a British passport now. Id suggest ‘punishing’ the tourists without whom your economy would be considerably weaker is a rather stupid strategy.
