He’s a convicted sex offender who pleaded guilty to felony child pornography charges and corruption of a minor. He sent over 12,000 text messages to a student.
He then raised money on GoFundMe to buy a baby!
Pennsylvania law does not prohibit a registered sex offender from becoming a parent through surrogacy.

Brandon Mitchell is a registered sex offender. He and partner Logan Riley hired a surrogate so they could obtain a child. Pennsylvania law prevents sex offenders from adopting children— But NOT from purchasing them via surrogacy. Child protective services should investigate immediately.

NEW: multiple legislative sources confirm that there's another hurdle for the Bears Megaprojects bill: The Illinois Federation of Teachers, led by Stacy Davis Gates. Sources tell me they are lobbying to include language that would protect funding for school districts if the bill goes through. It comes as Mayor Johnson issued new comments on the bill today calling it "counterintuitive." More at 12:30pm on @fox32chicago

After Moriarty declined to charge, Ali was arrested two days later during a shootout at Burnsville HS's graduation.

On Wednesday night, April 15, 2026, an officer-involved shooting occurred in the 6500 block of South Champlain Avenue in Chicago's Woodlawn
neighborhood. Illinois State Police (ISP) troopers shot and killed an armed suspect following a struggle.
The shooting took place at approximately 10:50 p.m..
Troopers were responding to a domestic battery call that reportedly originated on I-57.
Upon arriving at the 6500 block of South Champlain, officers encountered an armed individual. A struggle ensued, during which shots were fired and the suspect was struck.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. No officers were injured in the incident, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Family members identified the man as 24-year-old Jalen Carpenter, a father of a 2-year-old.
The ISP Division of Internal Investigation Special Agents are currently investigating the shooting. Once complete, all evidence will be submitted to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office for review.

How on earth can it cost $30 million and three years for the NYC government to build a grocery store in Harlem? There are *dozens* of grocery stores for sale, all over New York City, for less than $5M. Many are less than $1M. This seems like a scam. (or vanity project)
