What if they respect the essence of the source but changed it up? Similar to how Lord of the Rings movies were made? The trailer makes me hopeful because of the amazing music, and Ocarina had some of the best music in any game. If they respect it enough they can take some creative licence as long as it stays true to Ocarina imo

People slamming the new Ocarina of Time remake’s art direction are repeating the same mistake. The trailer hit and the complaints started straight away. Too realistic. Looks like some generic Unreal Engine fan project. Not real Zelda. This is the exact same energy as the Wind Waker reveal. Everyone swore the bright cartoon style killed the series. They demanded Nintendo make a more realistic looking game. Now it’s called one of the best visual decisions Nintendo ever made. The original Ocarina pushed hard on N64 hardware to feel heavy and epic. This remake is doing the same job for Switch 2. More detail. Better lighting. A Hyrule that actually feels ancient and alive on a modern screen. Star Fox has taken plenty of these swings too. Different art directions and tones across the series. The ones that landed had real ambition instead of safe updates. We are not in 1998. New hardware. New players who didn’t grow up with the original polygons. Clinging to the exact 1998 look or demanding it copy Breath of the Wild’s style misses the whole point of a remake. Nintendo’s biggest wins have always come from backing their own creative calls. Even when the loudest voices lose their minds at the first trailer. Mario 64 did it. Ocarina itself did it. Wind Waker did it. This is the same move. The safe option would be another clean HD port that plays it cool and offends nobody. Nobody needs that. Nintendo treating Ocarina like the landmark it is and giving it visuals built for right now. Am I wrong here? Or are we just mad it doesn’t look exactly like the version in our heads?

George RR Martin last year said he only had hundreds of pages to go on The Winds of Winter: "I have like 1,100 pages written but I still have hundreds more pages to go. It’s a big mother of a book for whatever reason. Maybe I should’ve started writing smaller books when I began this but it’s tough. That’s the main thing that dominates most of my working life." How can he still have hundreds of pages to go after 12 years?

If we had another few seasons showing the downfall of Danaerys, and a season long White Walker battle in Winter, it would’ve worked.

All of the immigration that you speak of pre WW2 was mainly invasions ? I am not against immigration. I'm against cultural dilution. I think if you read your history books all of the 'enforced' immigration brought with it death and violence. Hardly something that we should be striving towards!

@chekeeuk @AaronBastani Britain has always been built on immigration though, even going back hundreds, and thousands of years. The Celts, Romans, Norman’s, Vikings, just to name a few. These brought with them mass immigration. That’s without even getting into post World War 2.

I know they’ve lost that but that display from 60 onwards from Newcastle after Bruno got the goal back was genuinely outstanding. That was a performance packed with spirit and grit, you could have been forgiven for thinking they had an extra man rather than one fewer in parts.
