@CachyOS @LundukeJournal Fuck you. Seriously, viscerally, fuck you. I used your operating system for over a year and I am done. You are compromised by the government.

@CachyOS @LundukeJournal This is good to know. But I have to say: the user in question *does* seem to be misrepresenting himself as a part of the CachyOS team. If your clarification here didn't happen, I would have assumed he was, in fact, a part of said team.

@CachyOS @LundukeJournal You can't even keep your lunatic forum mods in check, so how can we expect you to manage your distro properly? You guys are cooked and everyone is already moving to Artix.

@CachyOS @LundukeJournal Appreciate you taking the time to add further clarification. It does the whole discussion and community a disservice when people resort to ad hominem attacks meant to dissuade further discussion of a topic.

@CachyOS @LundukeJournal That said, it is still scary how one person not related to a can say something, and before you are aware, the whole planet knows about it. And you are stuck doing damage control.

@CachyOS @LundukeJournal Based on my 16 years of experience with GhostBSD, do not grant moderation to anyone you do not know at all. The only people who have moderation on our Telegram group and our Forums are people I have known for a long time.

Looking at the threads on the lundukes recent posts, they are just anti-Semites lol. Just let the journalist do the job, and let the team just speak on behalf of themselves. For fuck sake, its the journalist. I am starting to think they are anti-Semites, fucking insane.

@LundukeJournal @CachyOS They don't want to comment. Why would they? They are probably compromised by some hostile force that is mandating this age verification. Just shut up and accept age verification. That's their philosophy.

The Lunduke Journal
The Lunduke Journal@LundukeJournal·
CachyOS is now blaming their censorship of users opposed to Age Verification… on all of you, “[Lunduke’s] masses of racist radicals”. Not just regular “racist radicals”… but time traveling “racist radicals”. Several Days Ago: CachyOS made a bizarre statement, calling opponents to Age Verification “radicals”. They then quickly censored every comment and thread where users expressed concern about the possibility of Age Verification in CachyOS. Yesterday: The Lunduke Journal reported on CachyOS for the first time. Today: CachyOS team says that “Lunduke lead his masses of racist radicals” to travel back in time to force CachyOS to censor users. They didn’t want to censor their users who oppose Age Verification! Honest! It was those pesky Time Traveling Racist Radicals! discuss.cachyos.org/t/age-verifica…

@DoingFedTime That's disheartening. If you build a system that has exceptions to privacy/anonymity, then no one is safe from the application of exceptions.

Monero devs have never once suggested building backdoors for law enforcement, Zcash's founder suggested it publicly then asked you to memory-hole his own words.

Whonix
Whonix@Whonix·
Shared personality vs unique virtual personality 🥊💥🥊 Should Whonix systems all share one fingerprint, or should each generate a unique one? In other words, should identifiers such as /etc/machine-id: A) shared: be the same across all Whonix systems, OR B) unique: be regenerated for each user at every system boot? Whonix uses shared identifiers, meaning all installs appear the same. Why? Even if software (or malware) inside a VM reads identifiers and sends them to a server, changing them per user offers little gain because such software can easily generate its own unique ID anyway. Just like Tor, Whonix follows the principle “Anonymity loves company.” When all systems look identical, tracking any individual becomes much harder. Choosing option A) does mean that the machine ID reveals, "this is a Whonix system." However, avoiding this kind of leakage is realistically not possible. Making each system look unique (option B) might hide that it’s Whonix, but VM fingerprinting makes that nearly impossible. There is also a trade-off between two goals: complete resistance to fingerprinting by local software, and applying strong system hardening for better security. Unfortunately, when the system is hardened for security, this itself becomes a fingerprint: it reveals that the system has been customized or secured, which may make it more identifiable. Since it is impossible to achieve both goals perfectly, Whonix prioritizes security hardening whenever these goals conflict.
